On field referees do a very difficult job. It doesn't help when pundits are slating every marginal decision on their social media accounts. VAR is a failed experiment.

That penalty decision is a fucking joke. Its just not a foul by any metric of the rules if the game.
No intent, no challenge, barely any contact, no force and hugely overexaggerated effect.
No reasonably competent referee gives that.
