Thanksgiving

Bit of a joke really the US claiming it oconsidering it was an tradition from the nation they rejected and the paticular version was british pilgrims thanking native americans for keeping them alive when the yanks once independant as a nations only attitude towards them was mass murder and displacement.

Was celebrated in the UK for a century or two but evolved into harvest festivals and bonfire night fully replaced it eventually.
Haha, wtf are you talking about. Suddenly after independence they’re no longer the same English and European people they were? That one made me chuckle

In the US today so looking forward to a turkey dinner , hopefully without any of the sweet shit they like to put on main courses.
It tends to be beef at Christmas here, so the wife’s bought a turkey to make a traditional British Christmas dinner with all the proper fixins.
i’ll be a right fat bastard when I gÈt back to the UK!
Pacing today is key. If you stick to the turkey and avoid (most of) the sweet stuff, there's no reason you have to return a right fat bastard. ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving, and don't bang the drum!

Cheers, i think I’ll be ok if I can get a few games of ‘soccer’ in over the next few weeks, I do like a lot of the food over here though and the portion sizes are crazy!
I just need to take more doggie bags home lol

Happy Thanksgiving to you too

What part of the Country?

This Saturday is the big payoff. You get City in the early AM then a few more EPL matches before the college football rivalries dominate the afternoon and evening. Can't wait! Go Blue all day for me!

I quite like watching the games in the morning as opposed to the afternoon unless
I’m actually going to game in person.Much less time for the nerves to kick in.
A group of American mates have persuaded me to watch Monday night football
nit sure it’s a game I’m gonna take to, especially when the QB runs off the pitch!

I always thought thanksgiving was the last Thursday in November but its not, its the 4th Thursday in November which is usually the last one, but this year there are 5 Thursdays in November. Happy thanksgiving to all our american BM's.

I know there’s a few ex pats over there. What do you make of it all? Is it like Christmas Day minus the presents? Or is there presents?

12 noon pint? Arguing with your brother because you’ve not seen him for a while and you’ve both been on the sauce since?

When I was over there we stayed in a bed and breakfast, went down in the morning looking forwards to bacon, eggs or cereal etc. It was just cakes.
