I don’t think defence is the issue we have no midfield & pep wants our defence to play in midfield. Recipe for disaster at the minute

We’re intentionally playing Rodri on his own in midfield.

A quick pass around him or a one-two and we’re in the shit, not helped of course by some diabolical defending.

His passing is very good for a cb. but his defending from wide and pace is poor. He's not getting a sniff at Cb and Pep said he can't play Stones role?
He could develop into a good LB, just weird if we've signed him just for that

Wouldn’t disagree with any of that. Think he’ll play in this position for the season and transition into the middle of defence. I think he also has enough to play alongside Rodri but I would like to see a bit more pace going back the way.
