I wondered if Redbird IMI was a completely separate entity from RedBird Capital Partners, who own 11% of Liverpool. Possibly not. International Media Investments (IMI) is wholly owned by Sheikh Mansour and it has invested up to $1.9bn into RedBird Capital Partners. They have created Redbird IMI to invest in media and sporting content so indirectly our owner has some connection to the LFC stake.

RedBird IMI are already very active in the UK with the proposed takeover of both The Telegraph & Spectator and today All3Media. Most of the money is coming from IMI so it's going to be very interesting to see where they go next.

I believe it actually means union, so some people may interpret that as United. Either way who cares as that's not our name and our owners have made us the best team in the land and all the world :)
