Watching Phillips in the first 15 minutes I noticed that whilst he is operating in the same general area of the pitch as Rodri he just doesn’t make himself available for a pass like Rodri. Whenever a teammate has the ball Rodri seems to find a space to receive a pass. Philips just doesn’t do that
