Once upon a time we had a cavalier forward line that overwhelmed sides with movement ,pace and goals. Now we have to pass backwards, sideways endlessly until someone like Phil breaks out of the group coma and actually has a go at goal.

Until KDB, Doku and Haaland are back - then their movement, dribbling, finishing and passing will be a defender's nightmare.

Foden as a teen, used to play with that forward line that overwhelmed sides with movement, pace and goals. He is well versed with the ancient teachings and knowledge of those that used to pepper teams. His the last remaining of that era, with Bernado and the ageing KDB.

I still feel this way.

There are City fans, stupid city fans , who believe the media silence on fodens talent means He hasn't got any.
He's the next Gascoigne for this country. The media can only ignore it so long.

Certainly he's better than fucking rashford and saka.

But the city fans who believe the city hating media really fucking bug me. I talked to one the other day, City fan, telling me we are state owned and that we do seem dodgy because of no smoke without fire. I'm fucked off with those part time fans who listen to our haters.

I need to stop its Christmas
It shouldn't need addressing that he's better than Rashford and Saka; but you're correct that some are so conditioned by media narrative they believe the aforementioned two are world class.

Nobody comes close to Foden in the current England set up. He's a gift.

Said it for years foden is the best English since gazza and his future lies in midfield . He has the skill to be our greatest ever player but he needs the discipline to match .

Not sure I realised before the actual speed and power of Phil's shooting...that was a guided missile he fired last night.

Indeed. But the match day threads have the most idiots in one room. I suppose i was one of them typing flippant shite and not concentrating on the game, my fault. Glad to say i weened myself off there and i now enjoy watching games without reading what the flappers think.
Not that it makes me better than anyone else or anything like that, but it's just a thing for me. I have never been to the match day thread, ever. The game is the spectacle and who needs to "listen" to a bunch of supposed supporters slagging off the squad and its players for 90+ minutes only for those same bitch and moaners to be proven wrong a large majority of the time especially over the past 6+ years. Pre-match and post-match I'm all in, but from whistle to whistle the match is off limits to any white noise...JMO.

The guy called him Phil Frauden in the match day thread about 5 minutes before he got us back into the game

If I'd said something that stupid I'd have a week long self-enforced ban from this place.
I would suggest at least 10 lashes as well...

Not all in match day thread slag the players, we have some positive posters with a balanced opinion who talk sense and i used to enjoy reading their views. But every time it isn't going well, especially when we concede the first goal that's when it most often becomes toxic. Certain players get dogs abuse and most of it is uncalled for. When i go to games i don't go on Bluemoon till well after the game ends and i never read match day threads. The games i haven't been to i just watch on TV without any distractions from reading posts and have only been on the in game thread twice this season at HT to read a few comments before the 2nd half starts whilst the adverts are on.

I admire the mods who have to try and meditate the madness when fans are at each others throats.

I can only imagine what goes on in there...

Thing is, Foden has that much talent and ability that we all want and hope he gives 8 and 9 out of 10 performances every game. So when he gives a 7 out of 10 performance, which is totally acceptable, we can feel a little dissapointed and leave us expecting more. In most other sides he would be the main man, someone who everything goes through, and that would help him to shine. We have to accept that we have other brilliant players, the likes of Bernardo Silva and De Bruyne, so he will have games where he's not the player you're talking about come the end of the game.

Yeah my New Year’s resolution is to stop going on the match day thread. I mean someone called Foden Frauden last night- before he scored. Not just a shite take but he probably had his great pun ready for when we went behind.
Anyway easier than giving up the booze.

Or just be realistic and realise that no player plays at ‘8/10’ every week. The lad is a generational talent, he’s won the World Cup with England, and everything at club level playing multiple positions. He’s City through and through and the sooner people fully support him the better he’ll be.

Come again?
