What would you consider to be a success this season?

If we don’t win CL or PL, I’d still be happy with deep runs in both in which we played well (but lost because of any exceptional performance by the other team). I’d also want, by the end of this season, our new players to be acclimatized and ready to play a role next year (so we can stop talking about Palmer - haha).

Im a new fan, but I think my expectations are lower than many of you. I just want to see City be a contender - they don’t always have to win. I feel like so much luck (injuries, random goal deflections, etc), play into winning a trophy that sometimes it is simply out of one’s hand.

Honestly, given the opposition, we should be winning both the league and the champions league again, there's nobody close to our top level and I suspect other teams both domestically and in europe will close the gap in the next few seasons as we lose key players and get weaker and other teams strengthen so this is possibly our only chance to get 4 in a row and a back to back champions leagues.

Retaining one of those titles would make it a good season. Anything less and it's a disappointment. That's not entitlement or anything, simply stating the team we have is the best in the world and we should be winning major honours.

I think there is an in between between success and failure.

The incredibly high standards we’ve set recently mean we are alone in only winning the league or the Champions League can really be seen as a success these days.

But winning neither doesn’t automatically make it a failure either.

Premier league would be great but any trophy will do. We are not entitled and as Pep says whatever we win we will have earned it.

Either the League or CL is a successful season.
If we only win 1 a year after winning a treble no-one can argue its a poor season
