US/UK launch strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen

More people die falling down the stairs each year on average than from terrorist attacks so chill the fuck out.

Never retaliate
Always blame the Russians or Iran and never do anything to upset them.

How many times I have read it's what the Russians and the Iranians want, who gives a fuck if it's needed to be done?

It’s possible to blame Iran and the Russians and acknowledge that it’s exactly what they want but also think that there is no alternative to responding firmly to aggression from their proxies. What also needs to happen is for prevaricating countries to give their full support to Ukraine to comprehensively defeat Russia which will do more than anything to add some stability to the world once the Russians get rid of the Putin regime.

Surprisingly I agree with you.

The part I feel many people ignore or forget is that the same way Israel isn’t going anywhere neither are its immediate neighbors Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and obviously the Palestinians. Being nuclear armed is nice and all but what is the end game? Israel/the West can’t eliminate all the bad actors and it’s not like they haven’t tried over several decades. End of the day some sort of settlement will need to be reached the question is we will be around to tell the story…
They aren't going anywhere no but most countries in the region now recognise Israel and its right to exist. Many of these countries were in the process of normalising relations with Israel so none of them are going to go to war over this. This route to normalisation may explain why non-supporting actors decided to support Hamas in enacting a large scale terrorist attack on Israel.

It's obvious that they were directly or indirectly involved and they knew full well what the Israeli response would be. Clearly as a result the likes of Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah, Iran etc don't give a toss about the Palestinians, they're just a useful pawn in a greater scale conflict.

What has happened over the last month or two has been nothing but a call to arms against Israel, this is because they want to attack the ideology of the existence of Israel. For the other state actors such as Russia it's about destabilising the west and diverting resources away from the war it is losing in Ukraine.

Not true. A majority of countries in the Arab world and the Middle East do not recognise Israel.

Wrong thread, this is about the houthi shooting at ships, as they have again today.

I'm correcting an incorrect claim. It's nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza.

If it's in the wrong thread you can move my post and the quoted post.

Officially true yes but unofficially not necessarily true. It only takes a google search to prove that the major Arab nations have been working towards normalising relations with Israel. How can you normalise relations with a country that you do not recognise? Until 7/10 the Saudis, UAE etc were working towards recognition and that's still their policy.

Either way the reality is Israel will exist after this, that is a big problem for countries like Iran but it clearly isn't a problem for the likes of Saudi or the UAE.

Anyway sorry offtopic.

"Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?"

It is the sanest policy.

Having open wounds/unresolved conflicts makes it easier for Iranian backed groups or even Russian to take advantage of the situation. Of course they don’t care about Palestinians, same as the Russians don’t give a toss about the Syrians outside of the port in the Mediterranean that Assad leases them.

No true “normalization” will ever exist for Israel and its neighbors until this situation is nipped in the bud so bad actors like Iran and Russia will not always be able to take advantage.

Not sure why any would protest against this. The Houthis are a terrorist faction attacking international civilian shipping. Of course we should protect it.

maybe because they are concerned it may draw strikes onto their island and their homes in retaliation?

The Houthis haven't got 5000 mile range ballistic ICBM's just yet, although some on here would love that it seems.

Stopping their ability to proliferate and strike with such weapons is actually the whole point of the strikes.

The same people who claim we haven't got a military complain like fuck when we use it, in this case for a very good reason.
