Spurs Thread - 2023/24

Said it before, but will bore myself again. Let's not forget Tottenham's last title was nearer to Victorian times than 27th January2024. Add to that since you last won the FA Cup, the Premier League has been formed, There has been a Millennium, A hung Parliament, Greece have won the European Championship, Blackburn and Leicester have won the league, oh and of course you greedy bastards haven't lulled anyone in to sponsor the Tot Pot Stadium. Do one.

How abysmal was that pipped in music pre-match? Jesus christ, if that's their attempt at getting a crowd up for it, no wonder spurs are decades without a trophy.

Brilliant piece of research on the Title.

Last time they won it was 1961, which was 60 years and a bit after the death of Victoria. We are coming up to 63 years since that title win. How embarrassing for them.

I really enjoyed the match: tactical and technical spectacle between two strong teams.

I thought we played very well, mostly, against a team with a greater physical power than ours, but players technically not quite at the same level. I thought Phil's movement between the lines and his receiving of the ball was brilliant, but he was physically outgunned on a few occasions. Kovacic was superb and his acceleration from a standing start was really on view. The defence was excellent centrally but Kyle was caught positionally a couple of times, and Gvardiol gave it away cheaply a couple of times too - he is improving week on week though, especially on the ball in tight spaces.

Doku looked sharper, Kev less so, and I think Kev is going to need several weeks to be back to speed.

The top selling album of the swinging sixties was “The Sound of Music”.
