Problem we have with such defensive fullbacks is that they appear constantly on their heels when the ball is played to them in the final third. No threat.
In the meantime, Grealish for Nunes, Doku on the right, and Foden through the middle.

Well theres not one positive I can take from that first half.
Too slow in our build ups, crossing from the wings awful and Haaland, Nunez and quite a few more not up to scratch.

Yes they have defended well but we have made it too easy for them, too many players not at the level required and not enough creativity in the team and too slow allowing them to regroup.

City attack, Everton put 7/8 players in the middle of their box and throw players in the way of every attempted shot. City get squeezed out, play out wide, cross the ball in, but nobody is on the end of it.

Everton are just defending like their life depends on it. It happens. We need to stop them from bunching up and spread the players positions out more, creating space.

I honestly thought the team would have went at Everton from the off at a high tempo zipping the ball around knowing they can temporarily go top,it’s more laboured and slow unfortunately..

Akanji Nunes and alvarez are not players who zip the ball around
