FC Copenhagen (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

I said to Mrs Vienna that I was surprised that VAR didn’t even look at it.
I’m sure it did once the yellow card was given, but I don’t think they make the same song and dance about it in Europe, do they?

If it had been a red card, it would justifiably have been called a “soft” red, because he did get the ball first BUT he did come into the challenge out of control and with a slightly high follow through.

Everyone had seen them given, but when they’re against your own team, you think they’re soft and when they’re for a foul on a player you love then the dirty bastard has to go!

Watching Bernie’s pained expression is bad enough at any given time, but when it’s because he is actually in serious pain, it’s so much worse.

We were at it from the start. Only let them in for about 5-10 min after they scored an unexpected equalizer.
Brilliant smooth high tempo teamplay, beautiful to watch. Silenced the stadium. And me every now and than. Yes, still.
' silenced the stadium....' except that twat with the siren. The Danes have gone down in my estimation.

Copenhagen beat United-“This Copenhagen team are very good”.

City beat Copenhagen-“This Copenhagen team are poor”.

Meanwhile on ‘Drive time’ with Andy Goldstein “Tonight we will be discussing Manchester United and if not please rest assured I’ll still manage to shoehorn them into the conversation”.

Worth a mention, I thought their right back first half, left back second half, Jelert, was fantastic.

showed a ridiculous turn of pace throughout. out paced kdb multiple times and kept up with both doku and walker on different occasions. Can see him being at a top club before long, perhaps one to keep an eye on ourselves.

Yeah I was impressed with him

Only 20 years old too

A good, solid performance. A very strong line-up dominated the match and only the immediate aftermath of Jack's injury saw any kind of chaos. Other than that brief period, control was absolute, and excellent performances from Stones, Rodri, KDB and Phil, probably our four best players, IMO, set the tone. On we go.

KDB has come back like Lazarus; fresh and full of spunk

If he continues in this vain we retain the trophy, it’s that simple….

Haaland not even at full tilt also, I can’t see beyond us on the two leg cycle to the final, which one offs can throw in spanners but I’d still back us after getting the albatross off the back!!
Said to the wife he's looks and is running around like a spring chicken, glorious to see and as you say its hard to see where we fail from here on in.

Going to be another monumental end to the season for sure.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans.
You showed ‘em, you showed ‘em all. Especially the dirty mermaids, you’d think with being near the water they’d manage to keep clean!!
Especially the stupid, biased, squeaky squirrels in the media. (Ha ha that showed ya, didn’t it?)
Especially the Specsavers needing, stupid fools pretending to be officials who try to grind us down! Take that you barnacles. Don’t you know who we are you silly, deluded bits of paper from the toilets! We are:
MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!!

Looks as if I might not be the only one voting for a certain player tonight!! ;-) :-)
Squeeky Squirrels? Dirty Mermaids?
A couple of glasses of sherry eccles or just youthful enthusiasm? Whatever, very eloquent :-)

Job done for me, can’t see Pep resting on that score though, I think he will start strong in the return leg and kill the game completely before bringing subs on….

Dirty cunts they are and the ref was happy to facilitate as they all seem to do.. Hope Jack makes a quick recovery

Yeah, we will be up for it. Haaland wants those goals in UCL too

first 30 minutes of first half, till their goal we have been as dominant as ever. You may say its Copenhagen, but its knockout UCL away tie, always tricky.

Its been like first 45 min against Real (4-0) last year. Copenhagen just could not do anything at all. Impressive

I've been of the belief that Doku deserves to start more than Grealish but it was brilliant to see that first 15 minutes - which I think is our best team - and the pure rythm we played with with him in the side retaining possession and dragging people around.

Doku can open up defences but for the biggest games we need that starting 11.
