Russian invasion of Ukraine

I'm pretty sure that is the actual plot of Goldeneye
Well to be fair it’s loosely based on real science. Can’t remember which Mig aircraft it was that still used thermionic valves when the US got their hands on it, only to realise that after a nuclear strike the transistors and ICs in their aircraft would be significantly damaged where as the old style valves were immune.
Thankfully these days the hardened chips have a layer of depleted boron which provides shielding and are often Silicon on Sapphire rather than normal semiconductors.

Well if life is imitating art then somebody needs to find out if Sean Bean has had any trips to Saint Petersburg recently.

What happens if what ever they have sent into orbit becomes damaged and it results in a crash landing into earth? Would this result in an unintended nuclear detonation where it lands?
The accident involving 2 USA planes in 1966 released 4 hydrogen bombs.
1 into the sea the others into a fishing village near Vera in Almeria, Spain.
No nuclear explosion, just massive radioactive contamination partly cleaned up but still contaminating a substantial agricultural area of Palomaris today.

Ukrainian troops in the Avdiivka area. The situation in the city at the time the brigade was established was extremely critical.Separate battalions of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade conducted a raid into enemy-occupied areas of Avdiivka. The enemy's forces on our section are approximately 7 brigades."Our fighters demonstrate unprecedented heroism. We are forced to fight at 360 degrees against new and new brigades that the enemy is setting up," declares the commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade Andriy Biletskyi.During the period of stay in the Avdiyivka direction, two brigades of the armed forces of Russia were critically damaged. The exact losses of the enemy in personnel and equipment will be reported later, after confirmation of the necessary data.At the same time, the objective situation in Avdiivka remains threatening and unstable. The enemy continues the active rotation of his troops, and throws new forces and means into the city

I could be wrong, but I wonder if this release of this information of Russian possibly launching a Goldeneye type satellite is for political reasons to get the 95 million dollar package to Ukraine/ Taiwan/ Israel through the Senate as well as the upcoming US election. CNN thinks that’s a possibility also. Wouldnt personally put it past the Russians though but doubt they have the technology and finances to do it right now also

The russian soldier says his brigade of 4000 is down to 30% left and it has been none stop arty from Ukraine against them, which is interesting considering the ammo situation. He is glad their is fog so he can now scavenge the dead for food and water as he hasn't had either for days.

Voice from the trenches

The Chinese calls on the US to stop aid to Ukraine. Musk and maga threw a tantrum after the vote in the Senate on aid to Ukraine. Putin's supporters in Europe have strained to damage us economically as much as possible.
Apparently Muscovites threw all possible cards on the table. Doesn't look like desperation. I think they believed that they could make it this year. But no one is sure that they will be able to do it in the future.
After all, our task has not changed at all. And we must continue to fulfill it.

I've been away for a few days for business so not had much chance to check this thread out. but Jesus.

the Foreign aid deal is being delayed by the house as much as possible because it doesn't address domestic issues. Its in the name you dullards "FOREIGN AID"

National security advisor announces a major issue for national security that needs urgent debate. so what does the house speaker announce. a 2 week fucking Holiday!!.
