PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I have a red pal, very good job, intelligent bloke.
He came out with the same old shit, “you must be guilty because u got fined”. I explained that the fine was for non cooperation with uefa as they were leaking info and that we preferred to go straight to CAS so knew we would incur the fine”.

He went quiet … looked at me for 10 seconds and jusr replied , “bollocks”.

Ive had other people, again seemingly sensible people, say we must have bribed CAS. I mean … fuck me … they think we turned up at CAS with a suitcase of money.

So thats what we are up against. I think the whole thing has been a total smear campaign and the red shirts werent arsed if we are found guilty or not, its job already done
I would imagine CAS had to deal with more than money when they banned Russia from the Olympics.

The club, players and fans have been vilified by the media since the takeover. It has been relentless and has got more aggressive, spiteful and at times evil as it has gone on. From the way it looks, the club haven't lifted a finger in a concerted effort to try and stop it or at least tone it down. They have lost complete control of the narrative. As DD has stated, the normal football fan now firmly believes we are a dirty oil money-funded club, that are serial cheats and has no fans, and the fans we do have are plastics. This in my opinion is the one area where the club have seriously fucked up and it's way too late to try and change it now. United and Liverpool have numerous paid client journalists and media shills, constantly pumping out positive articles about them, literally on a daily basis, and it works. Why didn't we, or don't we do the same? We have so much going for us as a club and a team it is frightening, but hardly any of it is ever mentioned or sees the light of day. A decent, switched-on PR company could / would have a field day. But instead, all we get is radio silence and hate continues to be relentlessly pumped out and ramped up. Yes, we have won on the field, that is without a doubt. But our achievements, reputation and legacy have been shredded beyond repair, and it's criminal that the club have been totally passive for over a decade and allowed it to happen. All we have is a few hardcore fans, like Stefan, Rabin, Jay and Prestwich Blue who are prepared to put their heads above the parapet in an effort to stem the tide. Not good enough. Absolutely nowhere near good enough from the club. After the CAS victory, we should have come out all guns blazing and put a stop to it. We didn't, and history has a habit of repeating itself if allowed, and here we are again. You reap what you sow, and the prolonged media hate campaign is the harvest of our total lack of effort of doing the square root of fuck all to stop it.
Great post , the fact our club allows the media to belittle our club without any retort surely is undoing all the investment the Sheik has contributed , there is hardly any mention of the vast improvement of the surrounding area in East Manchester , it was a wasteland and now it is thriving part of the city.
The billion he has spent on transfers is money that has gone back into football , and yet the billion the Rags have spent on servicing their debt has gone to the banks , but this has neve rbeen highlighted . Just maybe when the Premier league verdict confirms our innocence the club will put the record straight , but i wont hold my breath , it appears the club are happy to keep a low profile regarding our finances
All very strange , invest massive amounts of money and yet let our name be dragged through the mud on a daily basis , defies belief.

Poor Dicky Disasters, his dream job is turning into a nightmare. His probs in bed now with his Aston Villa jimjams on, reading the John Stonehouse biography and thinking "oh mummy, if only I stayed in my middle management Marketing role and not listened to that little twat Levy"....As well as his little City dilemma, it looks like a HUGE problem is waiting his executive excellence. It seems Everton and 777 partners are now in some kind of deadly embrace, where Everton could go wallop without 777 and 777 could go wallop without approval of the EFC purchase by Dickie. However 777 are in BIG trouble, they have just sacked the CFO, if the content in here is accurate it's looking like an absolute shit show. How could this happen in a league that is overflowing with money .....

Im. Still stood by my bed

You know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without 115 on my mind

I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm still standing. Yeah, yeah, yeah

Exactly - it's like we have to salivate on Khaldoon's vehement denial for a whole 12 months - and a "that's good enough for you" treatment of the fans - yet we're that one's that have to take this relentless diatribe about our guilt every fcking day and turn up and cheer and shout and that's it. That's why rare snippets of resistance from people like Jay and Stefan are so needed - the club is giving us nothing - nobody expects the legal ins and outs, understandably, above all our pay grades - but a bit of "we totally refute the premise of that article" would go a long way.
That's fine until the first time the club fails to refute an article.
"See, they are cheats because they haven't denied it"

I dont disagree but would add perhaps we give to much credit to our press/media. City are playing to the world, big companies investing large sums of money into City.

Perhaps these big companies dont give two shots about the English sports press/media.

We need to remember that the English press/media only cater for the dippers and rags in this country.

The negativity from the English press/media doesnt seem to affect our momentum, doesnt seem to have put of investors. Doesnt seem to stop players wanting to come to City. Kellogg's came on board not long ago.

Its easy to let the English press/media get you down but remember the pl is worldwide. The English press/media are a very small cog and getting smaller by the day.

Yes it would be great if our press/media supported the best run club in the country. The best team England has ever seen and the worlds best coach, who has changed football from grassroots to the National team.
The fact our press/media doesnt says more about the state of the press/media in this country.

Sorry, yes he was my great uncle. He actually left me the sign in his will, which I've now adapted and will bring to tomorrow's game.

The reputational & image damage is incalculable, and it astonishes me that the club has been so passive, because the owners place such a high value on such things.

After Aguerooooooooo 93-20, we should’ve been everyone's second favourite club with young fans everywhere.

The coordinated campaign of 'Destroy City',instigated first by the rags and that bitter, vengeful bastard Ferguson and quickly jumped on by the Yank profiteers put paid to that.

The minute by minute drip drip drip of lies, misinformation, exaggeration and racism has poisoned the minds of the innocent and stupid alike, to the extent that the most successful team and sporting enterprise in the world is ridiculed and loathed in equal measure.

The 'lost opportunity cost' to City is incalculable and I, amongst thousands of others, hope that the club exact full retribution and recompense in what ever form they think is appropriate and however long it takes.

Fortunately the world is much bigger than our small broken island and the minds of the global population more open.

Hold their feet to the fire until they are

And that is a logical response. If we never deny, refute or argue the case, then yes, we must be guilty. If we wasn’t then we would surely oppose it? But we never do. For that reason people believe what they read and hear. Understandably.

To be honest we once were everyone’s second favourite club, I’ve no desire to go back there.
