What you mean, which is what every plastic red shirt means, is the City were a bit shit when you were growing up. That doesn’t mean we didn’t have success before you got into football you fuckwit.
 
The summer buys are coming back to bite us on the arse I'd say. We bought two 'potentials' in Doku and Gvardiol and two experienced 'Pl ready' players in Kovacic and Nunes. Of the four you have to say Doku has made the most impact but he clearly needs both time and further coaching to fit in with our team approach. Gvardiol has barely played in his actual position but you can say he isn't up to the mark as a makeshift left back. Judgement can only be made when / if he gets a run as a CB.

More worrying is the lack of game time and impact of both Kovacic and Nunes. The game clearly showed that we had a major issue in midfield but Pep didn't feel that Kovacic was part of the solution. Nunes barely plays and already I'm getting Phillips type vibes that he will never be more than a very occasional bit part player. Add to that the on loan Phillips and the invisible Gomez and the squad is ridiculously light for the competitions we are going for. Rodri ran himself into the ground yesterday and he can't keep up the crazy workload he has surely?

Yer wouldn't think so, but the lad does. I think he'll play nigh on every game this season. There aren't many Rodris in the world - Busquets was one of 'em and Guardiola was perhaps another, but what kind of game would we get if he didn't play? i remember going to The Etihad and finding either or both David Silva and Yaya were not playing. Yer heart sinks!

I didn’t. I mentioned 3 of the best games being draws. Liverpool, Tottenham and now Chelsea.

I think you presumed I meant Chelsea away.

I find most of our home games a bit dull due to teams parking buses and us taking the foot off the gas nowadays when we go 2 in front. Those three didn’t and it makes for a better spectacle even if the result didn’t go our way.

I think you will find that the arbitration of the games will ensure that the Dippers don't. Four pen shouts yesterday, two reluctantly given a cursory VAR treatment, but the foul on Haaland in the first half didn't even merit a flick of info on the big screen. Any two of those four would be nailed on for Liverpool, and the other two? MotD 'experts' would no doubt mention 'there is contact' and 'I've seen 'em given'! Yep, we've seen 'em given time and time again at The Swamp.
