City get the lump sum up front from puma and its up to puma to try and make that money back.
Its a loss leader for puma though, its more paying for advertising than making money.

Tickled me when, for example, united bought ronaldo back and reds said, “oh hes already covered his transfer fee blah blah through shirt sales”. No he hasnt, doesnt work like that

Think the glazers are happy to take Ratcliffe 1.3b and him doing all the football part of the business! When it comes to how much they can spend on players it be down to a vote which Ratcliffe will lose out on..

Shame that Villa and spurs are not pulling away from the rags because champs league for next season will bring them a lot of money especially with the new format and more games at home..

I don't think he does. He's not a City fan so don't expect fawning articles for no reason, which isn't what we want anyway. His "sympathetic ear" before is mainly around his strong feelings against FFP and P&S rules. He isn't "pro-City", but he isn't "anti-City" either - like most of them. If we fuck up he calls us out, which is fair enough.

Which article in particular does he "give us right pelters" unjustifyingly?

To be fair it's not the most exciting spectacle when the opposition put all 11 players in front of the goal. What are we meant to do about that...? Win of course, which is normally what we do, but it's never going to be all out excitement. Somehow the opposing teams never get called out for being boring though...
