There’s some incredibly optimistic folks here. Some are even thinking we could win at anfield, some think we can win the league. Madhouse!!
The way we’ve been playing does not give me any confidence but our run is fairly easy once March is done. Liverpool and Arsenal have a tougher run in comparison.

With 3 of our 4 Summer signings sitting on the bench against Brentford , that says a lot about our transfer window last year notwithstanding Kovacic returning from injury.

Yep and think pep doesn't trust Nunes yet but they all get another season to prove to pep they can play in his teams, if not he be sold

Who should/could we have signed to replace Gundog,Mahrez,Laporte and Cancello ?

We wouldn’t pay the UK record price for Rice and The deal for Philips/Paqueta was scuppered due to betting enquires.

Palmer was released late in the window because he wouldn’t accept not having guaranteed match time.

KDB was injured and ruled out for 5 months after 20 minutes of the first match.

I’d be interested to to read your thoughts.

We're also due to lose a close title race at some point. We won't win every one just because we've been in this position before.....
I don't think it works like that.

Yes, there is the argument to say that the more you're in, the more you'll lose... however I think the more experience you get in winning a close title race gives you a better chance of doing the same again. It's muscle memory!

Look at Real Madrid in the Champions League. They've won something daft like 9 finals in a row. They have the culture to repeat that and we have the culture to win these close title races.

If we don't win the league then so be it. And if Liverpool or Arsenal win the league they'll have deserved it. But we won't give up trying because Pep demands we have a winning mentality.

We may even end up winning nothing this season but we'll still qualify for next season's CL, so we'll still have had a more successful season than most clubs even though most of us( including me) will be disappointed. But i won't lose any sleep over it.

As I’ve said before I can’t see us winning this title and I’m ok with that as we can’t win it every year. I just think this season our defence is being picked off with counter and we can’t seem to finish teans of either .

Blows my mind that I've never seen City lose a closely fought race given a) how many we have been in and b) how perilous it has looked (QPR and Villa obviously, but going a goal down against Brighton etc) before. It feels like the cosmic order owes us one, but maybe we are still indebted for what we went through in the 90s.

We will know by the end of March if we’re still in the title race or not. If not, we’ve got April and May to secure 2nd, 3rd or 4th for a CL place, unless we win the CL.
Exactly this. Enjoy the ride. Most of these predictions and feelings are projections of whether you're an optimist or pessimist and not much else.

Given how we won it in 2012, we'll be in the title race in April, unless we are 9-10 pts off the top.

There are 8 league games in April and May. Given that both Liverpool and Arsenal are likely to be in Europe in April, and Liverpool in May as well, plenty of points might be dropped unexpectedly. Those who expect super human winning runs from Liverpool and Arsenal are likely wrong.

I think it will go to the wire and 85 pts will be enough to win it.

I’m pretty sure you can also include all the contested promotions since 1966. Don’t think we ever faltered when we were in the hunt at the business end of the season.

Each to their own. I'd rather the league with a never before been done 4 in a row. Be interesting to see how the knockers could downplay that achievement.
Win them both. The knockers would say what they have been saying for a long arse time that we are cheats and we are making the Premier League a farmers league. Let's hope thet are saying this in May.
