Tipping Point

Which City has tram stops at Meadowhall, Hillsborough and Don Valley

I'm a northern girl I know this one .... (Sadly I'm struggling to remember what she actually answered, but when asked the other contestant who was also a northern woman was also wrong).

The girl that won was particularly thick through the entire show .

Which is the only NON English club to win the FA Cup?
Celtic, Wrexham or Cardiff City were the choices.
The lad said “I’ve not heard of Celtic, I’ve heard of Wrexham and Cardiff. He picked Cardiff. Brad said they beat Arsenal 1-0; the lad said he’s an Arsenal fan… absolute thicko

The Chase

Q. Which battle took place (date given) in 1066?

A. Bannockburn
As a quiz aficionado (think you mentioned it once you’ve been on TV) I’m sure you know the battle of Stamford Bridge also took place in 1066, prior to the battle of Hastings.

I drove past there in the 80’s when I was visiting a customer, completely unaware of the history, saw this monument and parked up to have a peek, no internet at the time so a bit more difficult to find out the history.

King Harold Godwisinson defeated the Norwegian invaders led by Erlings ancestor Harald Hardrada and Harold’s brother Tostig Godwinson (no brotherly love there).

Both Harald and Tostig were killed, Harold’s army were victorious but just three weeks later they were defeated at the battle of Hastings by the Norman’s, apparently they were absolutely fucked, it was like playing a match after being fucked over by Atletico Madrid.

If Pep was managing that army he would have used his soldier rotation, drawn at then Bridge then pissed the next battle at, Hastings/Battle/Brighton, Sergio, Sergio.

She opted for Liverpool, must have been the mention of Hillsborough that sent her in that direction?

The geographical knowledge of the country they live in is one of the most worrying thing about a very large percentage of contestants.

Harold got lucky. Harald and Tostig had played at Fulford Gate, an away meeting near York (everyone was there) just 5 days before Stamford Bridge. Whoever did the scheduling back then should be hung, and probably was.

I saw a clip from what was clearly a very old episode of Tipping Point earlier. So apologies if this one has already been mentioned.

Q) On what date each year is Christmas generally celebrated.

A) Wednesday.
