Alvarez finishes the worse half of his City career giving a hospital pass to Rodri that causes him to have to foul and take a booking.
 
I'd be tempted to put Foden out on the left even though it's not as best position

a lot of our play is coming down that side and Alvarez is nowhere near as good on the ball

Switch Bernardo to the right and bring Kova on for Alvarez to tighten up the midfield
 
Check my post history if you'd like. I'm no 'Alvarez defender,' but the number of people commenting on him but not our 'world-class' striker is utterly bizarre.
 
We are just causing all of our own issues they are shit. Get midfield balance right & we take these 2nd half
 
Great to be ahead but jings, making it hard for ourselves by being unusually sloppy in midfield. Pep must see that Alvarez is a liability so far in our own half and is not helping defensively. We look dangerous going forward though and could well get a 2nd here.
 
Getting a result here is the most important thing. Our recent record at Anfield is poor so any win is very positive.
