Regarding Trump leaving NATO, that's not even his position. Trump has never been about leaving NATO but that's been grossly misrepresented by leftists and the media. His whole shtick has been to hold certain countries in Europe responsible for not spending up to the required NATO defense budget. I don't believe the US should try to foot the bill of the defense of a lot of wealthy European countries when they aren't pulling their weight and expect the US to do everything. It should be a shared project but it seems like the US is having to foot a lot of the bill. The reason why countries like Germany are able to have generous safety nets and welfare benefits because they aren't having to spend obscene amounts on their military as the US subsidizes everything. That does not sit well with the American population. Trump has also tried to hold Germany accountable for the Nordstream pipeline deals with Russia which has royally fucked over their economy now.

Many Americans are indifferent to Trump and would vote for him, if he can serve their interests which is precisely why Trump is leading on every single reputable poll in this country.

The rather funny irony is that I just found out a half hour ago that my youngest got into Kenyon College, a small but very fine liberal arts university, with a Presidential Scholarship — the highest merit award they give (I’m a very proud Dad tonight!)

If The UK would grow a pair of cajones and tell the USA that a "Special Relationship" no longer exists, and we want no part of your grotesque 'Military Industrial Complex', then I think it would give a lead to the rest of Europe to do likewise. Most sane people on this continent are sick of your country's malign influence on this planet.

That could be one of the more stupid, myopic posts I’ve read on here for some time, from someone whose name I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.

Give America an iron clad guarantee that the EU can and will defend itself against any potential Russian aggression AND BEAT IT and that the U.S. will never be faced by a dominant Russian adversary on its eastern flank and it would be out of Europe in a nanosecond, taking its billions with it!

READ A BOOK and I think you’ll find the USA was about as reluctant as it could be to enter a war in Europe, but once nukes became the final weapon du jour, it had no other choice than to be part of an alliance to hem in the Soviet threat.
