I do rate Mac Allister if I'm honest.

He’s decent, but is he actually better than Kovacic, who he’d replace (I don’t think he could fill Rodri’s role)?

He is younger, but I don’t think that is much of an advantage for us, as I don’t think he is a good fit long term for our system. Kova is a stop gap until we either acquire a high potential younger player or promote one from the academy.

Mac Allister would be a very expensive version of that, which I don’t think actually helps us much.
