England v Brazil | Friendly | Match Thread

@BlueHammer85 you said you never watched the game so why am I reading your usual copy and paste reply to every single post?
It’s getting weird this obsession of yours to defend a man who stands in the way of the national team having success.
Also, stop with the credit for losing a pen shoot out against Italy. Instead rewatch the game and see a coward of a manager shit the bed after going 1-0 up due to his negativity.

Support England as much and as loud as you want but don’t try and change things that the whole world witnessed. You want a steady, boring manager who’s nice to his players, fine.
Others expect a bit more that’s all.

Fair post that. Even as someone who has given a balanced defence of Southgate without hitting the heights of fan boy felatio. The performance was completely dour and timid.

Needs to pick more players who can run with the ball and who aren't one dimensional. Danilo had Gordon in his pocket for the whole game.

Realistically England are going to be playing defensive first football regardless of who the manager is, but you do actually need to produce some attacking quality and not just rely on moments of magic from big players.

There is something seriously amiss going on between the English FA and the rags. For about the past 30 years rag players have been shoehorned into the international set up regardless of their ability. If they play for the rags they WILL be chosen for their country. End of.
I'm pretty certain that a quick Google search will show just how many have rags, past and present, have been chosen to represent England, and the moment that same player leaves the vermin he is almost certainly going to be dropped by the England set up as well.

Personally I can't remember the last English rag player who actually warranted his cap. Not one.

What is England's DNA, What is our style of play, What is the go-to setup,

Most international teams have a DNA style and a default style that all their players understand and just slot into.
Southgate and England put square pegs in round holes to fit players who demand a start because of the club they play for, Only the goalkeeper place is nailed on because only a keeper can play in that role.

Southgate is a very poor manager with little top-level management under his belt for a start, Then you see him play a back 5 because of his lack of knowledge(championship) level and the fear of the the teams we play, In open play, we look so poor on the ball, We lack creativity on the ball in the middle to open teams up, Our only weapon of choice is freekicks or corners,

Enough is enough, What is the point of going to the euro's with properly the best young squad in world football and defending and playing for freekicks and corners,

let's get a manager with creativity ideas and open up and attack and up the fear in the other teams minds

Wan-Bissaka doesn't have a single England cap. And Sancho has only played for England once since he joined Utd.

Indeed , even if we won last night night - it all gets forgotten as it’s just a friendly during PL season which fans don’t want.
This thread would of been 20/30 pages shorter also.
Be less wumming from you as well , you know we dont rate international football and dont get behind england but you insist on being here ,for all their games , dont your hammer forums love england that you could enjoy posting on during the break ? Just asking

I’d somewhat agree but can’t be proven until he’s in the hotseat. Capello and Sven won trophies galore before taking England job and both ‘failed’

It’s easy to just say ‘Pep would make us play better and win trophies’ but international football is just a different beast to PL football.
Pep had the best side in the world and how many attempts did it take for Man City to win champions league ?
Euros/World Cup is a similar format, it can often be out of the managers hands why a team gets knocked out. So many variables.
Unless we win a trophy the next manager has zero chance of pleasing regardless of who he picks, how we play, what formation etc
It's easy to say because everyone knows it's true apart from you BH and a few twats at the FA.

Was tagged in to give my views and answered questions.

If you don’t like international football and don’t get behind England the bigger question is why do you watch and comment ?

I sussed that WUM ages ago, just put him on ignore.

I get the fact that you like to follow England and want success.

But I like to watch good football something Southgate cant do. Take the dippers v rags the other week, 7 goals. People talk of it as one of the best fa cup games ever, why ? The quality of football was shit, utd play like England fucking awful football but get lucky. Dippers should have been 4 up by half time. Does this make tent peg a good manager now the rags are in the fa cup semi.

I would say Southgate has to be England most luckiest manager of all time. The fact the first time he comes up against a top team he shits the bed. This is some how ignored by the press/media because it was the semi finals or final.

I dont watch England gave up after 30 minutes last night. I dont enjoy the level of international football, southgate bores me to death, and the City players have to drop their skills level and their natural game.

Another reason I really not follow England is the rags. Mainoo plays a few games for the rags and gets picked for England. Because of this England can fuck off. Its pathetic the amount of rags players that 'burst' on to the scene, play for England than are never scene again. Maguire and Rashford are only picked because they play for the rags. What other possible reasons could there be. Both players are championship level, Rashford is just football version of Frost Gump with a shot which normally goes into the crowd.

As my old man always said you just need to play for the rags to play for England. Nothing has changed.

Plus I find it impossible to support players who last week for their club were playing acting, cheating or in taa case bad mouthing our success. He can fuck right of the little scouse knobhead

Rant over

Who was the last England manager you were happy with and what did they win?

The worry is that because these two friendlies against Brazil and Belgium are so close to the tournament and against decent opposition, what we got tonight was pretty much what we are going to get in the tournament in regards to finished XI.

Bar Kane and Saka that was Southgates XI for Euro 2024 in my opinion.

Rice, Gallagher, Bellingham midfield.

The big concern is Foden starting in Saka's position. That tells me he isn't going to start for England and will be battling it our with Gordon, Rashford and Grealish for a position on the left wing.
However, Foden is better than Saka

well ask others not to tag me in and ask my opinion which I answer honestly and politely and I’ll just leave it to the echo chamber of ‘Southgate’s a fraud’ ‘we won’t win anything’ ‘we have overated average players/we have the best players’ ‘FA yes man’ ‘I don’t watch England , we’re shit (but will comment every match) etc

Imagine beng coached by Pep then turning up for England and being coached by the likes of Waistcoat and Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank who quit as Burton managet with them bottom of the table, then expected to play alongside the likes of Gallagher, Slabhead ec
Hasslebank is his Southgate’s mate. Played together at Boro

Rico's been called into the squad for the Belgium game.

It's staggering given his football intelligence and versatility that the rag player was called up before him. It will be funny to see how Southgate ruins him in an England shirt if he picks him. Probably by playing him as center forward.

Last time he played left back and got motm, so he'll certainly do a better job than Chilwell.
