Two more criteria tomorrow then big wait till Tuesday. My mates were able to get tickets at 6K last year. Not so confident now. |

You've hit the nail on the head there Bluearmy. This is the point. They are wanting to drive people to the cup schemes. If people start missing out on finals as not on the relevant cup scheme (even if season ticket holders), the club will hope that will drive people to join the schemes the following season. Its sly but i would bet thats what they are trying to achieve as there will many left disappointed it seems for this FA cup final
To be honest we don’t struggle to sell games in the cup so not sure they would as tourist/infrequent visitors are more likely to spend more and ticket prices are higher for non cup scheme members. You've hit the nail on the head there Bluearmy.
Minimum points for anyone who has been a season ticket holder from 1998 or any date before, but gone to the 3 FA Cup finals points were awarded for is 5,550.That’s my dad and his mate. They are 10-11k despite having a season ticket since Maine Road. I agree that a lot will be in that criteria. There will be a big rush at 1pm because there aren’t any criteria above that for non cup scheme members (I don’t think)
I haven’t got a clue how the points system works, and the only scheme I am in is the FA Cup one. Got my ticket at 10am on Thursday.Minimum points for anyone who has been a season ticket holder from 1998 or any date before, but gone to the 3 FA Cup finals points were awarded for is 5,550.
If your first season ticket was 2003/04 you would lose 500 and wouldn't have got a ticket for Stoke with minimum points, so therefore 5,030. We got a lot of new ST holders then as the stadium was as lot bigger.
Minimum points from 2015 when it expanded again, assuming Watford attendance is 2,730.
All that takes into account next year's renewal points and 2020/21 being zero points.
There are a lot who rarely go if not included on their ST, and there points total will be in these regions maybe one big cup game a season which gets them ten points nowadays etc.
Don't understand why people who want to go to Wembley aren't in the cup scheme already. This is the point. They are wanting to drive people to the cup schemes. Agreed. Anyone not in the scheme should treat getting a final ticket as a nice bonus and not be too upset if they miss out.Don't understand why people who want to go to Wembley aren't in the cup scheme already.
I think S/T holders who'd had a S/T for 4 or 5 years previously received an extra 1,000 or 1500? points when the points scheme started.I’m sure I got what seemed like a random 2,000 points or so for no apparent reason back in the early days of points. Not sure if everyone got that as like a joining fee or something?
Sorry but who are the more deserving fans - season ticket holders who aren’t in the cup scheme, or people who don’t go all season (apart from the cup final) but are in a supporters club?Agreed. Anyone not in the scheme should treat getting a final ticket as a nice bonus and not be too upset if they miss out.
I genuinely forgot to join the cup scheme, working nights does shit like that to you, my lad isn't happy with me lol, probably thinks I'm a twat for forgetting.Don't understand why people who want to go to Wembley aren't in the cup scheme already.
My first points were 1500 for "imported loyalty" in July 2002.I’m sure I got what seemed like a random 2,000 points or so for no apparent reason back in the early days of points. Not sure if everyone got that as like a joining fee or something?
Hope you get back in his good books.I genuinely forgot to join the cup scheme, working nights does shit like that to you, my lad isn't happy with me lol, probably thinks I'm a twat for forgetting.
Agree that the 1pm window could be busy. Last year the criteria for ST holders not on the cup scheme was 17,500/14,500/10,500…..This year it’s straight to 10,000 which would suggest that more have been siphoned off, although a lot of fans - particularly the higher pointers - may well have joined the cup scheme for this season which could also be skewing sales. After all, beating United in the final last season is just about the best advert for joining the cup scheme you can get!I think the 1pm window for non cup scheme over 10k points will be a free for all and all the remaining tickets will be sold then. Unfortunately I'm waiting for 4pm.
If I'm right and it sells out at 1pm will the club suspend the criteria drop downs in case we get more tickets from the FA at a later date?
Well, there will be loads of perfectly good reasons why ST holders are not on the Cup Scheme. Such as living a long way from Manchester and not wanting to face the extra cost and transport hassle of attending Cup games. Such as not having a Supporters Club anywhere close to where they live. What I fail to understand is why members of Supporters Club seem to have priority in these situations? Shouldn't most of them be ST holders anyway and, therefore, not in need of priority treatment?Agreed. Anyone not in the scheme should treat getting a final ticket as a nice bonus and not be too upset if they miss out.
Yes mate, I've already done it when we renewedHope you get back in his good books.
Don't forget this year then after that it's on auto renewal.
SCs get a certain % of tickets for all matches. Whether you like it or not, they are part of the ticketing system, just the same as corporate, staff, 18-25s, those on points etc.Well, there will be loads of perfectly good reasons why ST holders are not on the Cup Scheme. Yes in my experience most most OSC members are season card holders so a fifth of tickets aren’t really being taken out of the points pot. It would like the nearest Branch is a fair distance from you but it might be worth contacting the nearest one anyway and weighing up if there are sufficient benefits to joining.Well, there will be loads of perfectly good reasons why ST holders are not on the Cup Scheme.
