Only kidding mateAt the behest of explaining it again, I say Rasc knows where I stand on things.
If he's not offended or annoyed at what I said, it's because he knows from which position I am on the political sphere.
And that's good enough for me.

Hmmm?
I know the RF councillors and the work they have done in the last 3 years. They have been out and about in the community and actually listen to the populus which, given all the other parties have been conspicuous by their absence, has made them quite popular
Bang on but have to say some factory jobs were very well paid. The irony is that for many years Bury MBC was dominated by the 'Radcliffe Mafia' as they were known, a group of senior Labour Councillors whose seats were in - Radcliffe.
For some reason, the people of Radcliffe perceive themselves as oppressed by evil Bury. But the town's problems are almost 100% down to economic factors beyond the control of any council, notably the decline of the textile and paper industries that once provided many jobs - albeit low-paid ones. That industry is never going to return, and no amount of inward-looking parochialism will change that.
Come to think of it - it's a metaphor for Brexit Britain.
Long before Brexit Radcliffe town centre like many town centres was very rundown so it doesn’t surprise me they put Radcliffe first in, any councillor that might bring hope and change to the local community imoThe irony is that for many years Bury MBC was dominated by the 'Radcliffe Mafia' as they were known, a group of senior Labour Councillors whose seats were in - Radcliffe.

Yes, but don't you see? The mental process was the same. Hitting out in frustration at a perceived enemy instead of the real enemy. That's what I was getting at.Long before Brexit Radcliffe town centre like many town centres was very rundown so it doesn’t surprise me they put Radcliffe first in, any councillor that might bring hope and change to the local community imo
The Tories will spout that shite on SM once the election is called.Looking for music I just stumbled into a propaganda thread of the worst kind on you-tube, “Muslims are planning to take over Britain” 415 thousand views in one month. Muslims infiltrating government and the army. So help me I’ve heard of such things but never before read about it on public you tube
This is where a “stop the boats“ campaign gets us I blame the conservative policy they have used to fight an election on as stirring up racial hatred just to win votes.
Braverman makes Priti Patel and Liz Truss appear sane.Braverman already calling for Sunak to swing to the right today otherwise they won’t have any MP elected. Dangerous woman if she ever gets the top job, she wants him to withdraw from the ECHR

Sounds a bit like a Braverman CV.this - what a fucking Walter Mitty

Nick Adderley: Suspended chief constable's Falklands War medal 'appears to be false'
As well as wearing the disputed medal, Nick Adderley claimed to have fought in the Falklands War, despite being 15 years old when it began.news.sky.com
What has the UK become?
On the face of it the question is just another version of the perennial "ain't we shit" so beloved by political affiliates (of all sides) not getting their own way. However, I think what has happened is not politically based at all but social and can be summed up by two phrases and one huge social change.
1: The harder I work the luckier I become.
2: From the cradle to the grave (usually associated with the NHS but can be applied in multiple instances)
3: Social change is the huge influence of women in all aspects of life since they were given the vote in 1928(?). Which is obviously correct if you believe in democracy.
My whole argument is that the greater influence of women has meant we have moved from an ultra competitive, testosterone, macho, winner takes all attitude to a much more gentler, caring, work/life balanced, quality over quantity attitude.
So, "The harder I work the luckier I become" phrase is pointing out you will not become or remain a champion world beating country by having a work/life balance because someone else somewhere will just have a work/work balance and overtake us.
The second phrase "From the cradle to the grave" is beloved by very many (utterly detested by others). It sounds great but usually means the middle and upper classes making 'pets' out of the working class. For me, going back to Darwin and 'survival of the fittest' and 'natural selection' it takes out that necessary competitiveness to achieve economic success.
Bottom line: No one get's it all. We can be an economic powerhouse (which means working longer and harder) or we can become a more caring, feminine dominated society but have to accept we will be less competitive and presumably poorer.
When i first read this i thought.....Starting work at 10. That's a bit young! Lol.......First off, I want to be a cat if adopted. Preferably by a wealthy woman with banging breasts. Secondly, it’s a hard no on the work harder and longer option. If people want to work themselves into an early grave then have at it, but I’ll go for the European model. Social safety nets, generous pensions, starting work at ten and taking August off.
You get one life, so fucking milk it - I may trademark this motto and become a life coach.

Yes, I know that if we had an election you would get elected and I would not be getting my deposit back! However, to jump on the moral high ground (and why not), if sustainability and leaving something for future generations matters then we have to at least be as competitive as other countries. Otherwise we are just in a very, very slow Fall of the Roman Empire type scenario.First off, I want to be a cat if adopted. Preferably by a wealthy woman with banging breasts.
