PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I do think the club should be asking the BBC article to be taken down and if they refuse to do so then we should issue a statement referencing our initial statement then noting the amount of inaccurate reporting of the case using the BBC article as a prime example.

It surely cannot remain the case that media outlets can continue parroting whatever inaccurate and biased rubbish they like about an ongoing legal matter with no consequences whatsoever.

Nothing libel in the article it's just isn't written very well with a lot of "when" that headline is asking when then explaining it all appallingly!
It smears our club with eye catching negative headlines. Some may argue it’s a very well written article. Those who wish us harm or don’t bother with all the facts

I have noticed that during major junctures in the season that the sports media tends to turn the heat up about FFP and City, hear we are at the pivotal moment of the season and the media space is flooded with City and FFP, most of it’s click bait and none of it tells anyone anything new I don’t think it’s a coincidence
It's because it's a dead football week, everyone out of Europe except Villa, but that'll come tomorrow - they gotta fill their columns somehow, negative City articles are the go to fillers.

What they don't realise is that they're doing Pep's team talk for him.

The club’s stance will be on the back of legal advice you don’t pay these KCs and ignore their strategy Once the case is closed then I’m sure the club will have their say anything they do at the moment will be carefully considered and done without drama and in the background
I just want to be seen as doing something against the vermin that wright such shit.
But I do take your point

As supporters of the club we are becoming the whipping boys.
The club seems to be burying it's head for the sake of not rocking the boat.
FFS do something to stop theas clowns.
I personally am losing patience with our clubs stance

I think its a difficult one, im sick of the shite the media come up with but nobody truly knows what the club do behind the scenes. I dont for one minute think that they are sat there and ignoring it, we might not hear or see it but I believe there will be a valid reason whichever way the club choose to act.

Only last week there was talk of cease and dissist letters going out, how true this is we dont know but there seems to have been a change in the reporting of late. It may be due to letters going out or just the fear that they may be on their way. Who knows.

Personally I trust the club and believe they are playing the long game, if we come out of this unscathed with a crystal clear statement from the PL stating we are innocent we may see action being taken against some of these people.

Hello, I am making a complaint about a recent BBC article. See link below.

The reasons I am complaining is the article is factually incorrect and seems to have been written by someone that is biased and may not have read the CAS report.

The CAS fine was for non co-operation. Nothing else. Please update the report.

Man City were cleared of financial wrong doing at CAS. There were 2 sponsorship deals that specific years were time-barred, but CAS confirmed there was no evidence of disguised equity funding. Read the CAS report for details.

The BBC are supposed to be impartial
Another very important point is that City were cleared of any financial wrongdoing by CAS because UEFA provided no credible evidence to back up their allegations. CAS included the words "No evidence" no fewer than 11 times in its report.

Nothing libel in the article it's just isn't written very well with a lot of "when" that headline is asking when then explaining it all appallingly!

Off the top of my head having only read it once it states:-

City dragged their feet and this is why it took four years for the PL to charge us

That we paid players more than what was in their contracts

That it is only a matter of time before we are punished

All with no evidence to support any of the above.

You should read it. My thoughts below.

The tone of the article is biased. BBC are suppose to be impartial.

It's basically a big fuck off to City and what we've achieved.

It said the fine from CAS was largely due to non co-operation. My understanding is that it was only for that. Nothing else.

It mentions City got off at CAS due to time barring.

There's more but by the time I've written this we could all read it.

I have contacted City's media department and asked them to challenge the BBC about it too.
Link for our media dept mate?

You are probably right about legal advice. I don’t expect the club to comment on the current procedures but the smearing of our club goes on regardless. This has been going on too long and whose to say that if the club don’t make a stance it just continues till eventually we are ruined.

I've written to Man City's media department asking them to challenge the report. Bearing in mind the BBC are supposed to be impartial, there should be a strong case for this article to be at least edited or even deleted.
The biggest irony is the BBC constantly banging on about its news and current affairs programmes as "Verified".

It's full of mistakes and takes no account of what the CAS judgement said about lack of evidence. A disaster of an article. It is also totally out of context. There is no rationale to randomly publish this article other than to try and damage City. It will have been authorised by someone senior and you can only assume they have acted in bad faith. There is not a single source quoted in it and non of the allegations are even attributed to any source. Nothing is qualified and there is no attempt at balance. It is as if it has been written by a child.

Funny you should say that. I was just thinking I am 100% certain my 11 year old daughters could have written a better article. How can I be so sure? Because I would have exercised editorial control to make sure the article gave a balanced view and all the fucking mistakes were corrected ....

Exactly, all this talk of the club should come out fighting need to remember how the recent statements from Everton, Forest and Leicester have been received.

That BBC article is a disgrace. Have they changed the headline? This is why we need to start screenshotting every misstep.

This is the sort of thing that should not be forgotten when the dust settles. The problem is, the media never really have to answer any questions, unless they turn on each other. OFCOM need a kick up the backside too, this is supposed to be their domain, the BBC are flouting the rules of their own industry with that obvious hit piece.
