The Northern Lights

We were watching the lights last night in the back garden. We could tell that there was something atmospheric going on but couldn’t see any colours. It wasn’t until we viewed the sky through our phone camera that we could see colours so don’t be disappointed if you can’t see what these pictures show because they might only be visible on your camera rather than the naked eye.

Use an image hosting site, like IMGBB. Or you could use screenshots to reduce the size of your pictures. But just how big are your pictures. I took quite a few last night, all the same size as the one below (4000 x 1848, 7mb) and was able to post them directly onto here with no problem.

Also missed it last night, but there are plans afoot here for a midnight trip tonight to a nearby peak. I hope it doesn’t end in disappointment for all concerned …

Not being funny, but I'm not sure how you (or anyone else) missed them. I first saw mention of them being possibly visible on Wednesday afternoon

Well, working very long hours last week and not paying much attention to the news didn’t help. And then being in the pub from 5pm yesterday and back home after a very thirst-quenching few hours by 9.30 didn’t help matters. I was more interested in closing my eyes rather than keeping them open by that point.
