I hope we get Neves over Bruno G. I like Bruno for his dirty side of the game, that non of our players can do, but at his price, I would rather us go for Neves.

Neves will never go for that price, it will be likely much more that even Enzo thanks to Chelsea completely fucking up the transfer market.
Neves has a RC of €120M~£102M. So he is going for that much despite Enzo. Unless they change the RC amount, which is unlikely at this stage, Bruno and Neves are basically the same price.

I like him. Tough, technical, high work rate.

Speaking to a Newcastle fan today and he rates his attacking creativity highly, compared him to Martin Peters yes he’s an old geordie I don’t remember him but reckons he drifts into really good attacking space unnoticed.
After speaking to him this makes more sense to me now

I have the complete opposite opinion. I think paqueta flatters to deceive, goes missing in a lot of big games and isn't really needed here as another 10 that can play as an 8 or wide when we have the likes of foden and kdb amongst others doing what he does. Bruno would be an 8 that can do the 6 role, there's much greater need for that player within our squad with only Rodri and kovacic being naturals there.
I like him to for those exact reasons, but for that price, I would rather have Neves. Who has a high ceiling and potential and already bossing the midfield at his age.

Yeah given the needs of the squad we need someone who can cover for Rodri and also play alongside him like Gundo did. Kovacic is great at controlling the tempo of games but Guimaraes puts in a tackle, score and creates chances. He'd be a great fit I think.
Can't see us getting Paqueta unless Bernardo goes and his charges are cleared, which I'm not convinced they will be by the end of the summer.
Here is how he and Paqueta compare this season:
Keep in mind the difference in teams, I believe Newcastle is slightly better than Westham, but Paqueta is also more of a #10, then an #8, while Guimareas is more of a pure #8.
Defense
What's interesting here is how dominant Paqueta is in tackling and aerials won for a midfielder, with the tradeoff for Guimaraes being better at making blocks and interceptions, and still a decent tackler. You can see Guimaraes height works against him and he won't be an asset in the air.
It's pretty even in this regard I think. Guimaraes being more overall a better defender, but his height works against him, which Paqueta excels at.
Passing + Chance Creation (xAG and SCA) + Goal Scoring (they are about equal in this one)
Paqueta is a little like KdB in this regard, as his passing completion % is very low, he goes for big time risky passes (which I think the eye test also proves), but then you see his xAG and SCA of 0.18 and 3.34... and these aren't great. The percentile for xAG is 90%, but this is in comparison to midfielders, it really goes down when compared to attacking midfielders. Comparitively Kevin is 0.76 and 6.52, and both are like the MAIN creator for their teams.
Guimaraes, who again is more of an #8, and not the main creator of Newcastle, has a slightly better pass completion, without sacrificing too much creativity, a slightly lower xAG of 0.14, but a higher SCA of 3.86 (perhaps a consequence of playing for Newcastle).
But also, Guimaraes surpasses Paqueta in progressive passes (slightly) and surprisingly, successful takeons (slightly).
Overall
I think other than the lack of height, Guimaraes is the slightly better player over Paqueta, and is a better partner to Rodri for us. I was kinda surprised because going in I thought it would be Paqueta, but his creativity is about the same as Guimaraes even though his role requires him to be the main outlet (although it is Westham, so it balances out). Paqueta's pass completion is quite low for somebody not making enough chances (xAG or SCA).

Perhaps you have not noticed that the gap between us and the rest of the teams has become extremely narrow. I want game changers and not just bodies to fill the squad quotas. Last I checked, SUPERSTARS change games and win you games because of their individual brilliance.
