Gvardiol had a release clause......No they can't if he has a release clause. We are simply responsible for making the payment to Newcastle that the contract stipulates. There is contract law that clubs have to follow here. They can't just do whatever they feel like. If he doesn't have a release clause then it is a different matter.

I think he did but it didn't kick in until this Summer so we had to negotiate a fee with Leipzig, Haaland definitely did and we used that, as we did with Grealish.I don't believe he did. Haaland did

Yeah we had to negotiate because the release clause wasn't active yet. If Bruno has an active one for this summer we don't need to negotiate anything with Newcastle we just need Bruno to agree to come.Had one for this summer. Still had to negotiate to sign him of 2023-24
