Why do they not realise that stones can do what he does because he has great players around him that know the pep system . If stones stepped out and upfield, England would be wide open because of the turnips in the team that are not on his level .

I think you mis-heard, he was comparing with how they are allowed to play for City but not allowed by Southgate to play that way for England. EG Stones being allowed to advance into midfield at City but Southgate doesn't allow him to because he's to defensive. Wio just said the same.

He actually said John Stones should be telling the players to go further forward, be braver.
And there's me thinking that should be the managers instructions.
Shearer being negative about the city lads is how I read it.
Kane gave the ball away for their goal and yet Shearer couldn't name him, "a mistake from an England player" he said.
He'd probably throw Phil's middle name in as well if it had been him

What completely baffles me is it clearly hasn't run through Southgates mind to take Arnold off, drop Bellingham back deeper, put Phil as the 10 and bring someone on to play on the left .

it's so obvious but instead he would rather put Gallagher on for Arnold as a straight swap and then hook fill Phil some lesser player.

The guy is clueless.

Looks like a lot of the pundits are saying it like it is now and calling the waistcoat out.

I would have given foden and saka 7. They were both positive and had our best moments. Anytime Foden was linking with saka we looked dangerous.

Stones cannot bring the ball into midfield like he dies for us, and btw he has hardly played due to injuries, he has players around him who understands the system and Rodri. England do not have the coach, players for him to fo this as the midfield is so bad with Rice, Taa and Bellingham, none can retain possession. 1st time Stones does what Shearer says, one of the hapless trio gives it away for a quick counter attack, it will be Stones fault being out of position.

Then moans about Phil not driving forward from the centre, fucking hard when your dumped on the left wing. The 20 minute spell he came centrally he was the best player on the pitch then laughably gets subbed off.
