I remember Cucurella blatantly obstructing Rodri which allowed Silva to score in our 4-4 draw last season, the goal stood.

I really don't think that's close to similar. Mainly, Cucurella was pulling at Rodri, not blocking his run like a screen. Secondly, they are both facing the ball. Plus neither Rodri or Cucurella were directly involved in the goal. You can make an argument Rodri might have got there to block but that's very subjective.

In this case it's clear cut, he's directly marking the striker and the German is not looking at the ball at all. I really think this is not at all contentious.
