Tbh no I don't, I'd give Ortega a run and bring in a new second choice if Eddie sadly goes.

Agreed! Going backwards slightly with the players who leave and are replaced by to be honest. Would not be confident if it’s Ortega all season

I suspect he knew. His change of heart from going to staying was pretty immediate.

He’s a brilliant keeper but…just doesn’t instil the same confidence in the players that Ederson does. The FA Cup final for example, Gvardiol will have known whether Eddie was coming or staying for the ball and dealt with it accordingly.

Hopefully that will come with more time playing together and given his save against Son, he’s got enough credit in the bank to be given a shot at it. If it doesn’t work then we go into the market next Summer.

A bit disappointed by Ederson, though, considering he’s entering his peak but £600k+ is what it is.

I’d imagine he knew Ederson was off . Ortega is good but not on Ederson’s level . I doubt anybody would turn down £600,000 a week tax free . A blow for the club .

Yeah but no one is. Ederson is by far the best ball playing gk in the world by a country mile so whoever we bring in will be a massive downgrade in that part of the game

I must admit I was a little surprised when I heard Ortega had signed an extension as he could walk into many teams as first choice.
Its likely he's been told Ederson is leaving & he will be No1 keeper.
