Even with a few rags in their team, I can’t help favouring Portugal due to Bernie, Dias and … yes unpopular remark on here … Cancelo. The latter having another reslly good match.

Personality wise Cancelo, Pepe, Ronaldo, Fernandes cannot be compensated by Bernardo and Dias.

But I do take issue that so many just look at England games and nothing else and vent all their anger on Southgate.
International football has never been that glorious, it’s always often tight.
Lesser teams defend and fight for their lives and pack the box.
If everyone could just be rational they’d probably enjoy it more.

European football is very mechanical now. Every team seem to have adopted Real Madrid's result driven, pragmatic football philosophy

Football is kind of going that way in general. Messi alluded to it recently and put it down to over coaching kids. Everton is technically good but it’s all about systems and shape. Very few maverick players about now. That’s why i enjoy watching Doku and Cole Palmer

Leal is just impossible to defend. Too bad he has a too good for school attitude. So he won't e a great fit here. But when he has the ball, he skins the best of fullbacks with ease

There’s plenty of reason the vent our anger at Southgate. He plays the most turgid football, goes a goal up and proceeds to park the bus. He’s a coward. We should have won the Euros three years ago and we should have beat France in Qatar as they were there for the taking, just like they are tonight. I’ve honestly felt like turning England games off this Euros, it’s dire. BUT, we’re in another quarter final and another “easy” route to the final. He has to deliver, at least another final anyway. Spain haven’t got a better squad than England, but they definitely play like a team. It’s not much to ask for a manager to play decent football with a squad like Englands.
