Welldone Spain, great team, and deserved win.

My take.

Southgate tries to fit these players to his system and style when he should be playing to their strengths.
England do not work hard enough out of possession, either in the press, the tackle, or the tracking.
Pickford’s distribution is embarrassing and was the reason for most of the pressure leading to Spain second goal.
Bellingham is not as good as he or the media make out.
Southgate’s low block in this game allowed Spain to control the ball for most of the second half and he couldn’t solve the puzzle of how to orchestrate a breakout.
Subs were used too late.
Kane is past it and should have been used sparingly in the comp
Southgate should have been experimenting with his attacking players in the lead up to this tournament and had a few different options to use in particular circumstances.

It’s no disgrace to get beat by Spain and tonight gave it our best shot.

A case of what might have been …pace was our weapon which we didn’t use enough.

why do we have to have identical trophy presentations now on the pitch with some plastic stage, backdrop and fucking firework nonsense. Bring back the step climb because these all look EXACTLY the same.

In the 181 minutes he played across both the Euro 2020 and 2024 finals, England captain Harry Kane had just one shot, one touch in the opposition box and had just 58 touches of the ball.
