Yep, Shaw, Guehi and Stones didn’t really do much wrong. We just needed others to do the same.
Shaw didn’t have blooming time to do much wrong! He was flaming well injured for most of the time.
Still say Stones, Walker and Foden England players of the tournament with an occasional visit by Palmer.

That second Spain goal was Cityish.
Wonderful, they just opened England up with a few good passes and movement.

He wasn't very good first half. Williams got past him too easily a few times.

Well, we can't have watched the same game. He almost never got past him in the first half, and when he did it was not “easily”. Made a couple of great overlaps too. Started making loads of mistakes in positioning and judgement in the second half.
Look, let's face it: nobody played particularly well. But then, Spain didn't allow us to. That's what a technically superior team does to an inferior one. It's what City do routinely, week after week, season after season.

I’d have to see them back. At least one of the Yamal shots came from an unlucky deflection off Shaw’s foot.

He was also having to play full back, wing back and winger as Bellend doesn’t understand positional discipline.
Well, I agree with the Bellingham jibe, as he played invisibly all night, and set up the goal which is maddening.

Still can’t believe how timid Rice was with his header. He should be cleaning everybody out to power that home, not just let it hit your head and hope. Madness.

Sorry, but anyone who thought England were going to win this tournament were deluding themselves. I mentioned after the semi that we had just managed to scrape past 5 teams who combined, have a TOTAL population of just over 40 million. In fact 4 of them have a population of under 10 million, Slovenia just 2.1m. Yet we struggled all the way through and if we're honest, didn't really deserve to make the final even though we got the easiest side of the draw by far. In the meantime, Spain, who also have a population smaller than England, were taking out France and Germany.

The frustrating thing for me is it's not that difficult to work out. We have the right players but the wrong manager, who scabbed it time and time again with last minute goals from subs who should have been on for longer. Kane hasn't done anything for me but is apparently not fully fit. So why is he starting every match? Bellingham is another Beckham, lauded by the media who has his moments but overall, for me doesn't offer a great deal. Mainoo, too early for him, did well but naivety meant he gave the ball away too often.

I'm not knocking them or any other player, the point is he's picking he wrong players at the wrong time and not changing it quickly enough when it goes tits up. That's why we lost the last final to Italy. I couldn't get excited throughout the tournament because I knew we would never win anything under Southgate, who has never won anything as a manager at any level, and hopefully this will be his last match in charge.
