Pretty much because we do have Haaland up front, he wants to start as striker. Why is Alvarez leaving again? If he goes, basically Haaland is the only striker in the team and even with Alvarez on the list, City is pretty short up front.. If he goes, who is gonna replace him? There aren't many good striker left..

The issue is Haaland isn't fit for a whole season , we need a very good striker as cover.Pretty much because we do have Haaland up front, he wants to start as striker.
He doesnt wanna sit and wait for that anymore, got an offer to start 24/7 up top.The issue is Haaland isn't fit for a whole season , we need a very good striker as cover.

Or a top young up and comerSeems like a situation where having a solid veteran striker as backup would make more sense one who'd not mind riding bench, having occasional starts and coming on in the latter stages of games. Not sure who that is in this moment or market (ala Fulkrug although i realize he's not available) but as a squad planning approach it seems obvious to me stacking the 9 with a top tier mega star and someone with a great deal of upside is eventually going to result in the second one wanting to get out of the other's shadow and have the chance at that regular starting role elsewhere.

Here we go.
We tell the player the price, soon as either club match it he can go. Doubt this gets into a mad bidding war tbh. Soon as Madrid hit 70, he'll be gone even if PSG offer way overGreat news that Paris are sniffing around too, helps keep the fee high if more than one club at the table.
Good point this tbfRasmus Birtles cost £76m so Alvarez for £65m is laughable.
Griezmann. Cheap, low wages, won't complain, can play false 9, striker, winger, AM, scores a lot, good play maker, great vision, Assists a lot, great work rate...Seems like a situation where having a solid veteran striker as backup would make more sense one who'd not mind riding bench, having occasional starts and coming on in the latter stages of games. Still think they are going to be still short in matching our valuation.Sorloth has gone for very little in payment terms from the off. whole deal is only 25m at best. still leaves 50m from the cash injection never mind what the budget already was.
