If Alvarez fucks this deal by asking for too much money...
Could also be city’s reluctance to take Felix meaning they don’t have enough to give him. Maybe Felix talk to other teams (Villa etc.) has slowed down because they all knew this deal was happening. Give it some time, let them dump Felix and I’m sure they will make an improved offer. They aren’t getting a better player than Alvarez this window, they are spending 33m on Gallagher ffs

Nah, Mendes would find Felix a move regardless. By Alvarez apparently 'expecting more' he's comparing it to the PSG offer...or just had very very high expectations

id take Wharton, dont see the need for Eze
I don't know why some people keep on suggesting Eze. We are stacked up front, Alvarez or not. Don't want to clog up the Musiala/Wirtz space with a 26yo good but nowhere near world-class Eze. Savinho and Bobb will take the minutes from Julian (both with a higher ceiling than Eze). One wasn't even here last season, and the other barely played.

Give me a DM first and foremost, and a RB if we can.

I'm going to say it's unlikely that a player moving up from the championship to the premier league is going to have a release clause in his first contract.
To be fair, its possible. Wharton had his pick of clubs and Palace may have been happy to have the release clause because it guarantees them a big profit if he does well and it gets his talents for whatever length of time he is there.

United would have offered it already.

United cant pay a release clause, they dont have the money to do so.

This is why they have paid more than the release clause on one of their recent signings on the proviso that the fee can be spit over several seasons.
so they would have offered more instead. Either way if he had a price at 50m teams would be at the door already.
