Paris 2024 Olympics Thread - 11th August (pg 430)

I think Bird just broke the British 3000m Steeplchase record for men and women.

Edit - I'm talking rubbish she was nowhere near the mens.

Women's 200m coming up. I think Gabbie Thomas walks gold, Alfred takes silver, Brown takes bronze.

Neita and Asher-Smith need to be close off of the bend to try and snatch bronze.

Women’s 200m final about to run.

We have Neita and Asher-Smith, but neither are tipped to compete for the podium.

Dare I say, the most predictable race of the programme.

Neita and Asher-Smith were closer than I thought they would be.

The bbc always tries to be so clever with their video montages, why not just focus on the actual events?
Dead right! Fucks me off no end all the fuckin' hullabaloo. The same with the cabaret at the start of each race. Just get to the start line and get on with it. Wonder if they'll start doing this in the PL? Mind-numbing nonsense.

So far the Olympics are (again) brilliant to watch. Pure honest sport and pure athletes. It’ll be hard to watch football again. But that will be gone this Sats at 3PM.
