Every newspaper has gone that way now.

They aren't even trying to convey a serviceable opinion anymore. It's all just "let's see who we can try and rattle this week".

Social media "everything is a this/that debate" logic has ruined football journalism.
Previously there was time when newspapers faced critical appraisal and response for their content. Nowadays everything is so instant that "news and views" no longer last long enough to even become "tomorrows chip paper".

Headlines are written as attention grabbers to generate clicks or promote an agenda without regard to content or scrutiny beyond a like or dislike. The consistency, co-ordination and frequency of attacks on Manchester City make it hard to believe that most are not generated by shills, a cheap and effective strategy in the age of social media that appeals to certain sections whose attention span is even less than the number of maximum words set by X (Twitter).

The City hierarchy will be well aware of what is going on and who is behind it? Follow the money, as always. Thank goodness for forums like Bluemoon. To think once there were some on here who denied there was an agenda against City - not now!

So has Frank finally accepted there is an agenda? :-)

Just a quick thought. I was reading Simon Barnes' article in next week's Radio Times and the last paragraph sort of sums up a lot for me. We have been talking about tickets, price and distribution, the atmosphere at matches etc. and this paragraph hit home especially the last sentence (highlighted in blue):

"Premier League crowds express the shifting emotions of a match as no other league does. Their wild din - and sometimes their intense silence - is what make the Premier League work and draws audiences across the world. But it comes with an awful warning to all the top Premier League clubs: price the din-makers out of the game and you lose the soundtrack. Lose the soundtrack and you lose the world. "

Personally I don't see Newcastle finishing 4th given the changes they've had but beyond (and perhaps including) that I don't see it as a shit prediction.
Specifically which of the predictions do you think are far out?

Villa will be higher and I think the rags and scousers will be way off the pace, I can see Leicester doing a lot better than last placed.

I see that Nedum and Ellen White are backing the Arse as well - I guess they know which side their bread is buttered!

Don't think it is that strange to think the arse may win it, law of averages says it is possible they pip us and 5 in a row would be an oustanding effort from us.

those suggesting newcastle in top 4 or the rags to make top 3 are idiots though
