Stupendously good news. To have two keepers of this level provides a rock at the back. They bring different things to the table. Either would be automatic first choice in every PL team and a lot of top European teams, with the possible exception of Liverpool. The defence in front of them is pretty bloody good, too.
I can only see two problem areas for the coming season, and they're only potentially problems. Obviously, lack of a partner for Rodri. Although I think Kova has grown into that role. If there is no-one who can replace Rodri (and there isn't — in world football, there isn't), then Pep has to work out a different way of playing when he's not in the team. If there's one coach on earth who can maybe do that, it's Pep.
No striker to play alongside, or instead of, Haaland. We've got tons of attacking options, and players who like to score goals, though. I do think we need another striker. Not sure, though, who of real quality is around and available.
 
I think the guy felt undervalued. It looks like the club have sorted that and he feels the love. He is an absolute one off and so pleased we have him. Now if he could only learn not to commit himself before a penalty is taken he would save loads more ;-)

He’s certainly undervalued by some of the not rights on this forum.
 
The best goalkeeper in the clubs history - the fact up until now we’ve never heard anything speaks volumes, goes about his business , Wins titles, allows our defenders to relax and play out and has never let us down.
We’ll only properly appreciate him when he’s gone - kept his head down and has become the focal point of how we play. There isn’t a single keeper who you could compare him too and that says it all
 
Just seen this. Hopefully irrelevant now, but anyone know if he's actually any good? Anywhere near a similar style to Ed?

Judging on his career having just played his first full Bundesliga season and he's 29 years old, so imagine this guy would've been seen as a good backup option to Stefan Ortega had we actually sold Eddy.

No way he'd have been ahead of Ortega as his only prior experience of a top flight league, was as a backup/emergency keeper in the Dutch Eredivisie a few years earlier.

Agreed and throughout our history we have had some wonderful keepers but non for me better than this guy.
