Something Special about Stockport?

The people of Stockport are certainly “special”.
Too true, been here all my life except for uni days backs in 60s London, it's a great place to live. First City match in 1958 and watching home & often away ever since. Lot of games and a lot of grounds - 112 in fact (alas never abroad) I must be among the oldest posters on here although at 76 a mere child compared to @Eccles Blue! Anyway, Stockport and my part round Bramhall Lane is an historic place for many things, famously the founder of MG cars and - thanks to Billy Garbutt - football too -

Is it still dangerous to go out there unless you wear a tracksuit with the hood up and smell of marijuana?

We're not RAWK; just being an argumentative individual is not grounds to ban someone.

Though, if I had my way........
Don’t you start with me again young man!!! Stockport is a lovely place (not as good as Eccles obviously) and John Stones IS THE BEST footballer in the world. So there!!

Argumentative moi… I don’t argue except with myself!

;-) :-)

as someone with a proclivity for millinophilia
(i think women might call it cappellophilia)
it's staggering that nobody has mentioned the museum

There's also Robinsons brewery and Strawberry studios.
One of the Cockleshell heroes, James Conway, was from Stockport and the band 10cc also came from there.
