With any other club, I'd say this is nailed on.

Barcelona need to lower their wage bill and, for whatever reason, want to maintain harmony in a squad content with failing to meet expectations. Gundogan is the obvious candidate because they're well stocked in his position and he's on high wages with no resale value.

They also don't need to save face in terms of recieving a transfer fee because they picked him up for nowt last summer. On paper, they're getting exactly what they want.

But they've been a complete circus for years now and I don't really know what they're going to do next.

Signing Gundogan wins us the league again. Gives us so much flexibility. He’s like signing 3 players in one. His leadership also gives us a further dimension.

Him and Kova at the base of midfield would be good enough against any side in the World and allows Rodri far more rest.

He should never have left but that’s ok. The wife needed a break and he wanted to try Barca. Gundo is among a handful of city players who can do what they want imo. The legacy Gundo left us with is intact.

So many players come and go but Gundo, Komps, zaba, silva, Sergio have a special afinity with the fans. Villa alone would have been more than enough but to also make the scousers cry and fuck over united in a final is legend status.

We need him and he needs us. Worrying about others is pointless. Pep will put out the best team for us to win games. If the young players are good enough, just as Bobb has shown they will have years playing in blue. Gundo coming in won’t change that.

even if he comes and only plays a handful of games in the league cup and champs league group games, it takes some pressure off the squad, and im sure he's still got the legs/quality to do it. Come home Gundog!!

He was very good in the Euros, he doesn't look that he's lost a lot.
