The Labour Government

If you had to work away from home during the week for your company would you expect to pay your own heating bills for the accommodation they put you in?

This was/is for her constituency home in Leeds. If she was a proper northern lass she’d have just popped on her big coat. The southern softie.

I'm shocked...

Robot Reeves channelling her inner George Osborne. The only difference in the speech will be she won't be coked up.

That she is. Taxes up and cuts. What’s the definition of insanity? Keep doing the same thing and hope for a different outcome.

Taxes up, fine, but get borrowing and investing else they’ll be no real growth and we will continue to just cut more and tax more until we no longer can.

I believe austerity is now popular with the Centrists on here, strong and stable.

"get tough on benefits" There it is.

Low income families with too many kids, low income pensioners who have a bit too much to qualify for credits and the repeated messaging that there are "too many people out of work due to disabilities".

Next target on the list of those who need to share the burden .... she's definitely working from the bottom up here.

Our welfare bill is too high. Mostly driven by in work benefits. It stops companies worrying about paying a proper wage.

To this extent I’ve no issue with the public sector pay rises as (in theory) it promotes private sector pay rises as well and she is going to need to be brutal - not going after claimant but go after the companies and tax them until they start paying properly.

I do find it amusing to see the people who regarded austerity as being completely unnecessary when the budget deficit was over 10% of GDP now spending their days defending it when the deficit is at 4% of GDP.
I've accepted finally that we are all in a continous loop until we shuffle off this mortail coil.

Just read the last couple of pages, apologies to those that I may have offended.

Reminds me of the Rags and their salty tears.
