Pretty much the same depth as Arsenal & Liverpool with better quality

Injuries are a risk ofr anyone, but the days if having 2 world class players for each position isn't a thing anymore

No wonder all the top teams are having smaller squads with versatile and quality players
Have you got the stats to back that up ? We have more games now

I wouldn't be surprised if we did something tomorrow. Not our usual style, but frankly the whole summer has been slightly strange.

Truth is, I don't think even Pep and Txiki know for sure. Wait and see. Lots of opportunities out there.

If Bobb is back for January I would rather he got any minutes than someone we buy as contingency in fairness he deserves the opportunity & his injury was from timing was really unlucky. Better the injury does not stunt his development for a full season hopefully he can get good minutes from January onwards. We just need to ensure Haaland stays fit until Oscar is back which means using him sensibly & getting him off in games already won
Does Bobb deserve to be forced to play out of position when he's shown he's more than capable of getting minutes for us in his natural position?

Liverpool have a full 25 man squad. 3 keepers. 9 defenders, 7 midfielders 6 forwards, It couldn't be any bigger.

Arsenal have 24. I'm going to assume they replace ramsdale if they let him go to have 3 keepers, then 9 defenders, 6 midfielders and 6 forwards. They're 1 shy of a full compliment and that's because they haven't got 4 club trained players. I suppose you could include that young midfielder they're raving about to make it the full 25 man squad but either way it's full.

We have 23. 3 keepers, 7 defenders. 8 midfielders and 5 forwards (not that the breakdown matters but for the purposes of this I've classed Lewis as a defender with the other 6, the wingers doku, savinho, grealish and bobb as forwards alongside haaland and the rest midfielders)

That's 2 less than Liverpool, 1 less than Arsenal and theyre open spots too not homegrownor club trained restricted. I've classed Rico, mcatee and Bobb alongside foden as club trained regardless of whether they're actually required to be registered or not due to age.

Both the clubs you mentioned have filled their squad allocation as much as the availability of club trained players to them will allow, Whereas we have 2 free spots that we seemingly are chosing to leave vacant unless we do something tomorrow. That's a substantial difference and not pretty much the same.

3 years ago. Not winning the Prem this season if that were the front 5. Defo not winning the CL like that either...
Amazing how these comments about false 9's conveniently forgets that mahrez and sterling were our top scorer and third top scorers with 24 and 17 respectively that season and we also did actually have a striker in Gabriel Jesus who played about 40 times and got 13 goals himself. So whilst we still have kdb, foden, grealish, Bernardo and gundo from that system, we've basically replaced mahrez, sterling and Jesus who got 54 goals with Doku, savinho, bobb and mcatee. Who genuinely thinks those 4 will get even half of the 54 goals missing from the last time we played a false 9? Not to mention kdb was our second top scorer with 19 and he probably doesn't have the legs to be getting that many again.

or we are not stupid and see no reason to blow millions on players we don't actually want?
There is not a chance in hell that City are going to sandbag Pep and not back him, what better way to try and get someone to stay then to ruin the squad and sell all the players.

We have replaced Alvarez with Savinho, he can play across the front line, he hasn't got as much experience centrally as Alvarez has but hes much better on either wing and we have several options if Haaland doesn't play. A Foden, Savinho and Doku front 3 for example is full of pace, skill and plenty of ability.

Kovacic despite his age can get better you know, its entirely possible that Pep is willing to tweak the system and Kovacic can now deliver what is required to deputise for Rodri, its worked so far?
Savinho isn't a number 9 - neither is Doku whilst playing Foden as a false 9 is a great idea in principle but also leaves us short of him in midfield so you gain/lose by moving him to a new role. We've left ourselves needlessly short - we are continually told the club has lists of targets at each position for each window, but the failure to address the obvious needs smacks of 19/20 when we desperately needed a Centre Half and leader when Vinny left. We didn't do anything, Laporte got injured and as a result the PL and CL went down the pan with it. One Haaland injury and we are scrambling about moving square pegs into round holes. It might work out if we keep our fingers and everything crossed but we've needlessly plonked ourselves into a position of huge jeopardy.

Those linking a quiet summer to the 115 are frankly nuts. As if we are in anyway guilty, there would more than likely be a transfer ban, so if we were expecting any future punishment, we’d be spending like drunken sailors/Chelsea.

Who would you buy to replace Alvarez? I ask this, because there seems to be zero easily identifiable options. Perhaps we have a plan, which will likely require Walker, KDB and Gundogan next summer. Which may require £200m plus.
The club has a vast scouting network and we are reliably informed they always have lists of targets set up at each position. Far better qualified people than you or I are in place to address problems like this but to suggest there's no possible options out there to fill a half decent reserve striker role is fanciful.

As for the legal case - in the cold light of day none of us know how that will turn out. I'm confident in our chairman and those in power but any legal case that goes this length and heads to a hearing of this magnitude has a huge amount of jeopardy involved. We hope/expect to be cleared but don't have control of this independent panel and process at all if we are honest. Hopefully it goes our way but can we guarantee it won't be a stitch up? We simply cant.
