Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

So we just need to get someone on a free transfer…

Who can we tap up and get to leave their club by mutual agreement? Then we can sign them.

I mean we might as well do some underhand shit seeing as we are labelled with it either way.

You can't replace Rodri anyway. There's no one on his level that we could buy in January. Why waste money now.
Would be curious to see this line up once:
Eddie
Rico Akanji Dias Gvardiol
KDB Stones Foden
Savinho Haaland Grealish

I think we'll see Pep sacrifice one of the attacking players and go to two holding midfielders. Why try and cover for Rodri with one player when he's the best in the world at what he does? It will likely take 2 players to make up for it in that area of the pitch. IMO anyway.

A line-up like:

GK: Ederson/Ortega

RB: Walker/Lewis
CB x2: Stones/Dias/Ake/Akanji
LB: Gvardiol/Ake

DM x2: Kovacic/Bernie/Lewis/Gundo/Stones/Gvardiol
CM (attacking/sole 8): KDB/Gundo/Lewis/Foden/Nunes/Bernie

RW: Foden/Savinho/Doku/Bernie
ST: Haaland/KDB/Foden/Gundo
LW: Grealish/Doku/Savinho

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Akanji used as a coupled-up DM at some point. His reading of spaces and pace to recover is vital. And his passing range is fantastic with both feet.

Time to have Stones in midfield. But honestly, we knew something like this could have happened for the last 2 years. Why didn’t we sign a backup? It’s astonishing.
We would have to find a back up who was willing not to play 80% of the games and yet still be good enough to take Rodris place. Not many of those around.

Because the reality is Begiristain did nothing to make City better. Spending money on Phillips and Nunes is ok? The problem is lack of top planning in the recent windows and the board is paying for their sins to have no plan B. EVERYBODY told it, nobody from the club has done it. The fact is we are lacking pure pragmatism in this board. We have not signed no Rodri’s and Haalands back-up and for everyone it was fine. Open your eyes.
What defensive midfielder player of top quality would have signed for City, knowing that he had almost no chance of playing instead of the best defensive midfielder for the big games?

The reality is that we also need somebody who can adapt to the one-touch passing game that we play very quickly. That's why it went wrong with Phillips, because just couldn't do what the manager wanted him to do.

Whilst we all know what we need to have to have an ideal squad, unfortunately, so do many other clubs, and to get a player who is happy to bench warm for us rather than be first choice at another big club is not an easy task.

Because a decent player who knew he was being signed as a backup for Rodri, wouldn’t come on that basis. Great players want to play every game

Why have we all suddenly accepted that Rodri is out for the season without an official club statement. ? I'll prefer to wait until its official rather than hang on the words of these City hating click bait BASTARDS!
I can see your logic and really hope that it's not serious
However, City tend to be relatively slow with their official statements and recently (Ake and Bobb etc) we've discovered the full extent of injuries via other channels
