Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

We've now seen three senior players injured in the time it's taken us to play 5 league games, with none of the injuries resulting from direct contact. None of those three players went through the regular pre-season, instead being nursed into the season, and I'm afraid it's not hard to imagine others picking up injuries in the coming weeks.

Bring it on!

That buck-tooth **** has been winding Erling up since he got here, so to all of a sudden think yesterday was the start is dillusional.

He does this hard man act and talks shite every game and has to be one of the most hated players in the game.
The dickhead should really be focusing on the games before February, they really are rattled.

You’re a good poster mate but I’m sorry on this occasion you are talking bollocks. I have never, and I mean never, seen a football team with the antics of arsenal. Every fucking game there’s sitting down from the keeper, sitting down from players, blatant time wasting, an absolute shit show. They let you get away with blatant disgusting cheating every week. This is 3 seasons now you’ve been doing that. For whatever reason they let you get away with it. You may well win the league this season, you certainly have by far the best defence, but what Arteta and your team do is abhorrent anti football. Even when we were utterly shit we didn’t resort to tactics like this. If Rodri is out for the season you are clear favourites for the league, but the stench is horrendous
He's a throbber.

Being glass half empty (if indeed it's a proper glass) I'm concerned that Rodri was our constant over the last 3 years and Haaland, KDB and Stones are injury prone and we have lost Bobb already.
Being an old git if we beat Utd at Wembley and finish above arsenal and rags that will be fine, the champions league can wait especially if any points deductions are imposed by a league celebrating our / Rodris misfortune.

Brentford, last week played better than Arse, weren't afraid to come and play. They are more mentality monsters than Artetas time wasting shite house thugs.
I said that yesterday. Arsenal vert much play by numbers. As and when Bernardo dropped into defence to start the build up, Arsenal didn’t change their press at all. They literally have been told what to do and they do it.

The difference between Inter’s play and Arsenal’s was night and day. Arsenal got lucky with a fluked cross and scored from a corner.

Even Brentford adapted their play.

Arsenal are set piece FC. The new Stoke.

The club knew the risk not getting a real Rodri back up was dangerous most fans would say wreckless.

Gundy & Kova are good stop gaps but we shouldn’t be in the market for stop gaps.

Next issue will be not having a back up for haaland!

I trust pep to sort it
Where exactly do you find a back up for Rodri?

The whole world is looking for a Rodri or similar, not just us.

Maybe we should sign that Rhodri fella lots on here go on about ;-)

Look at the risk of getting flamed I don't think Pep will have been happy to see Haaland stoke the fires in that way and provide extra motivation. Clearly personal rivalries are developing on the pitch (even if the managers share great mutual respect and friendship) and so I think it's safe to say matches between the 2 will from now on need to be watched from behind the sofa. Haaland seemed out of control at times and whilst no doubt City fans will love to see that, it does indicate him getting wound up and it's one thing doing that at his home stadium but he's now created a viper-pit atmosphere for the game at the Emirates. City are more than capable of handling that but why make it even tougher than it would otherwise be? It's like creating an extra trip to Anfield from a City perspective.

Likewise Arsenal's shithousery guarantees City away will from now on be even harder than it was before as the fans will be even more up for it than they were before. I'm thinking City-Madrid of a couple of years ago levels of crowd atmosphere which makes it almost mission impossible.
Viper pit atmosphere at the Emirates?? Lol

Yeah, let’s use more and more players out of their position because the club cannot plan properly for ages.

Yep.FOUR domestic titles in 5 years.Plus loads of other trophies since Pep has been here.

Why don't you fuck off back to supporting the dippers or the rags. You self entitled twat.

City without Rhodri is Pep's equivalent of doing it on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke. Unlike some teams we know we won't make a big song and dance of it. We will pull up our big boy pants and play it out

We've lost big players for large chunks of the season before. Let's not feel sorry for ourselves and crack on

Kova was brought in to help and he'd been a success, Rico can play a midfield role and hopefully once KDB is back we still have a threat. Also Johnny Boulders can contribute and I'm sure we'll be looking to bring forward any transfer targets in January but it's not an easy option.
I wouldn’t say Kova is a DM, neither Gundogan. Rico, or the others, don’t have Rodri’s physical abilities, and that just leaves a declining Walker as our RB, unless we go to 4 CBs again, which I’m not averse to, but that worked because we had Rodri.

Given Stones’ injury history, can’t really bank on him being there over the course of a season either.

But their 'tricks' around keepers at corners wouldn't be allowed to stand with alot of other teams.
I still think Martinelli is impeding Ederson

Think he'd be brilliant, great engine, rarely loses the ball.

He can sit in the middle and run the show.

Not worried at all now, we have loads of options.
I've just asked that very question on Jack's thread on the Player Performances.

I can't be arsed looking, and I'm not a fan in the slightest, but if Rabiot is still a free agent maybe needs must.
He'd have to buy in to the fact he gets this season to show what he can still do, and not get excessive money. (Suspect those 2 things rule him out)
Also aware he's struggled horrendously with short term injuries - but we've had a couple of those in midfield Rodwell springs immediately to mind
he signed for Marseille last week

Because the reality is Begiristain did nothing to make City better. Spending money on Phillips and Nunes is ok? The problem is lack of top planning in the recent windows and the board is paying for their sins to have no plan B. EVERYBODY told it, nobody from the club has done it. The fact is we are lacking pure pragmatism in this board. We have not signed no Rodri’s and Haalands back-up and for everyone it was fine. Open your eyes.
You utter fucking jcl idiot. Rodri is the best in the world at what he does, but do you really think someone of equal standing is going to spend all season playing in the league cup in case Rodri gets a bad injury? He is the best in the world, we will have to make do with Kovacic, Gundogan, Bernardo, KDB, Jack, Phil etc in midfield. It’s not ideal but how can losing the world’s best player be ideal? Now fuck off and put some dry knickers on
