The Labour Government

Meanwhile Jess Phillips the minister for Domestic Violence was filmed last night singing karaoke at the Labour party conference. Her choice of song " Baby hit me one more time"

The lack of self awareness of this lot and their followers on here is off the scale.
Didn't Boris Johnson do a column about how it was woke to ban "Delilah"?

(Don't check. Anyone can apparently get in a huff about stupid untrue stuff and feel a need to post it. The thread has got Trumpishly weird.)

That's really shocking. The whole govt should resign because of this and let us have the nice honesty Tories back

Are you on the left? I'm genuinely interested
I don’t analyse my political stance on the left-right dimension. I espouse a range of policies which none of our parties currently support and which cannot be characterised as left or right.
As a result, I laugh at people like Starmer (ex DPP) and his chancellor Reeves (BoE orthodox) who are in the Labour Party but are right wing.

I laugh at Aphex who is in the BNP but is left wing.

It’s arrogance mate.
100% arrogance.

These revelations remind me more and more of the joke about the Barber who is doing Community Service.
The first day a florist has his hair cut and the barber refuses payment as he is doing community service. The next day the barber finds a bunch of flowers and a thank you card.
The next day a policeman had his hair cut, barber refuses payment again, next day a box of doughnuts on his doorstep.
The next day a Member of Parliament had his hair cut, barber explains again and refuses payment.
The following day there is a queue of a dozen Members of Parliament waiting for a free haircut.
That folks is the fundamental difference between the ordinary citizens of our country and the people who run our country unfortunately.

I had such high hopes, you'd think at my age I'd realise it doesn't change. :-(
Exactly this

I haven't voted for 20+ years because they're all the same. Nothing I've seen yet from Starmer and his minions has even begun to hint it might be different this time.

Could and should last two terms before they are turfed out but arrogance , incompetence and mirroring the last years of a pathetic Conservative merry go round might mean they last only one term if that.

A quick spiral to political death of its own making.

Much like the pathetic Labour Government we have to put up with over here in Oz , if it wasn't for an opposition lacking principle and common sense with the odd exception when it comes to energy policy they would have been turfed out already if an election was held less than 2 years in office of this hopeless bunch of hypocrites full of economic and social buffoons only interested in their own self preservation as we fall off a fiscal cliff.

A number of people said this “they’re all the same” before the election and were roundly shouted down on here. Evidence so far is those shouting down are now arguing about different shades of the same rather than true behavioural deviations from the previous government.

it's been a long long time since there was any altruism amongst the top echelons of any political party of influence. A long long time.

You missed the long list they’ve already achieved in a couple months then ?

because that's the easy and thick position, just slag off, moan and say 'they're all the same'' ... media will always find negatives and MPs will make mistakes, that's life - but it doesn't mean 'they're all the same' - thats a tired cliche that will always be said regardless who's in charge and how they're doing.
