I think at home against the lesser teams he is fine but against top teams and away he doesn’t add much
Problem is when Kev and rodri don’t play no one takes responsibility
They just pass it on to the point we are predictable
Kovacic never really looks a threat

Two good goals but I didn’t think he played well today on the whole. He gave the ball away so often which led to some of their rapid counters.

He’s a good player, not a great player.

In fairness to him, he is trying to manage a severely weakened midfield. It’s one thing playing in there when you’ve got some of the best midfielders in the world around you, it’s another thing entirely doing it with this current set up.

surprised we've not seen the Kova/Stones pairing as yet. That would be my answer for now but probably means dropping Rico which would be a shame.

Beautiful second goal. Developing a handy trait of finding space on the edge of the area. It was hit shot vs Arsenal which we rebounded.

He looked fucked at the end, though. Hands on knees at every break from 85 minutes onwards.

He could do with a partner in midfield. Either one who’ll sit with him (Stones or a stay back Gundo) or one with energy (Lewis).

Teething problems while we figure out being Rodri-less while will be ironed out.

He’s bang average imho and the reason our midfield looks poor. He’s in that pivotal role and sadly not good enough at it even more sad is the fact he’s our only option if Pep won’t play Brenie there
