City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Did we actually lose anything significant in this ruling? The PL are spinning it that they won most of it, I was reading it that City won the most meaningful parts of the case?

That could really fuck up Brighton so we’ll see how the Brighton supporting finance guy reports it. He’s been disingenuous throughout.
Good sick of hearing about them & their owner. I assume as he has won big he has also lost big too so hopefully today’s findings won’t be too much of a shock for him.
£373m loan at todays rates IF their account's could justify it would be £59/60m per year on their P&L
American Express oh no they’ve fucked off already

Please tell me the rags have a MASSIVE amount of shareholder loans
To be honest this probavly suits the scruffy yonner, Ineos has several offshoot companies he could realistically use to pump money into the club.

Not that the cheap **** will.

There's a huge opportunity here for City to show the Premier League and our rivals up for what they are.

I would like to see a bold statement, to publicly acknowledge the findings and state that although we are entitled to damages, we will not be pursuing them. Advise that our only aim was to ensure a level playing field for all and suggest that we forego damages in the hope that these funds are reinvested into the grassroots level of the game.
Bollocks. Take them for every penny then invest it into the club.

Does this mean we can now renegotiate sponsorship deals with Etihad and others? Hopefully high enough to blow Liverpool and Arses away in the January transfer window.

So what are the practical implications?

Just going back before 2021 rules where sponsor are still have to be fair value you can't have Etihad sponsoring us for 200m a year!

The bigger one is the loans from owner being 0% it got to be fair value where normal would be around 5%

Martin Samuels has the 'independent' take on it that castigates the PL, those clubs that supported it and gave evidence on behalf of the PL. His article fits the City statement like a glove.
