PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

just about to fly to Tenerife for a social media-free week of alcohol and sunshine. A complete break from twitter spite and bile.

I should know better at 60, but why do I feel as though I'm going to find myself in a brawl as soon as somebody spots my City tee shirt and spouts utter drivel?
Best angle of attack is complete silence and totally blank the pricks.
I did it a while back, some tosser in the supermarket going on with himself, I just acted like he wasn't there, felt so liberating walking off as he threw obscenities my way.

Thanks , I suppose I was just asking specifically if you thought the PL was incompetent?that because of its incompetence in enacting the rules correctly in the case of the APT system it had resulted in a lot of costs for all clubs in thsi instance. Ie this current shit show is down to them and not City?
Well whether they won the case or not those legal bills would still be there right? Due to the fact City went to court about it. And it wasn't a case of APT rules being enacted incompetently, City challenged them saying they were unfair (in particular the latest amendment about how these APT deals are approved and the l
process involved in that).

How much the rules will change as a result is yet to be determined - we'll have to see but my understanding is that 60% of PL clubs will need to approve any changes that do happen.

I guess if bills rack up and that cuts into PL clubs' income streams then the clubs have the right to demand a better way of working.

But for each case 50% of the bills are levied on City so the same applies to City as well I guess.

Perhaps a simplification of the rules that everyone is happy with would be the way to go rather than creating a complex legal framework that all clubs try to find loopholes in anyway (does anyone want to buy a hotel?).

I agree, let's simplify the rules IE remove them all so that clubs can spend what they want . Just like it was when Arsenal last won the PL. Then we wouldn't have this nonsense would we.

Another article from Martin Samuel yesterday not sure if already posted, quite a good if not long read.
Sums the twats up really.

Do I think the PL is incompetent?

No.

Incompetent is too polite. The PL is a narcissistic establishment where the lunatics are running the asylum. Its sole purpose is to make money at the physical cost of the players, but in particular at the monetary and emotional cost of you and me, the everyday fan who just wants a level playing field and would rather not have to pay absurd amounts of money to watch our team whilst simulateously being treated like something that fell out the back of a dog if the club decides a different demographic -read wealthy 'tourists' who pay massively over the odds from resellers (who get the tickets and share the margins with people at the club) can make them more money (and then we wonder why we have to bring in fake 'ultras' to create an atmosphere).

The PL employs staff who'd immediately be fired if they worked at a decent corporation for being unfit to do their job. Look at the Leicester situation as an example. How the heck has the PL screwed that up? It's absurd. Some other team may end up going down this season because the PL fucked up the one fucking job they had to do which was run the game correctly. And the lawsuits will follow, no doubt about that.

Regarding the current APT lawsuit City brought, and the ongoing 115 case, to be honest I don't trust any of it that we'll get to the actual 'truth'. It's because football clubs' prime reason to exist is to make money and the PL is the supposed kingpin that makes that happen. And in such a closed, unregulated environment the chances are it'll all be corrupt as fuck as nobody wants to stop the gravy train and backhanders. Just look at how corrupt FIFA, UEFA, the IOC etc have all proven to be. All unregulated fiefdoms. The PL is the same, of that I have no doubt.

Personally I'd fuck the PL off and create a new league. Let clubs spend whatever they want, the one caveat being a strict limit on the amount of debt you can be in. Like actual debt, not some made up FFP bollocks rules.

Long answer I know, but you did ask for my opinion so here it is!
Good post.

They won’t. There is a rivalry between Emirates and Etihad.
It's not between the airlines per se but more like a financial rivalry between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or more specifically the families who run each of these 2 Emirates (the largest 2 Emirates in the United Arab Emirates).

Abu Dhabi has actually bankrolled Dubai to the tune of $20bn dollars dating back to the financial crisis in 2009 but which they keep extending.

I guess if Abu Dhabi gets pissed off with Dubai (Emirates), or more specifically Arsenal they could always ask for their money back lol!

Abu Dhabi had to bail out Dubai.

As others have said, he will be the fall guy and the true architects of this smear campaign will be protected.

Unless he speaks out
He’ll be the Red Tops fall guy, not the PL. From any fans angle, he is their stooge and everything falls in place once you realise it was those cunts who gave him the nod, while others turned down the offer.

Looks a smarmy ****, just like the rest of the Red Top owners.

I'm off to lanzarote in a few days. I've also been considering whether or not to leave the tops at home due to current events. I've decided I'm going FKW. Fcuk em.

Fuck that.

Full kit, face painted blue, full Paul Power tash and ring Helen’s bell incessantly all day round the pool.

Full Arab robes whilst carrying round a replica premier league trophy for the evenings.

But you invest that much of your time immersed in it that you even come on a rival club’s forum and talk utter wank all day?

You sound pretty mentally unwell to me.

That’s exactly what we should do now to be honest, the arsenal lot are taking the oiss and we should hit them all hard

I don't think of BM as a 'rivals website' more of a 'football forum' where there's actually a lot more interesting chat going on than on other sites. Yes I know City are a rival but that's not why I'm here.

Re being mentally unwell - well most men have mental health challenges at some stage in their lives, I'm sure I'm just as likely to as the next guy and if I did it wouldnt be anything to be ashamed of.

I will say though that on forums where people display overt hostility to complete strangers that's often a sign that all's not always well with them on an emotional level - I'm not having a go as honestly it genuinely doesn't bother me getting flak as I'm getting it from people who've never met me and therefore don't know me - they might just as well be shouting at a cow in a field. But I'd question why hostility seems to be the first port of call for some folk anyway and what's behind that. Because being unpleasant to someone often makes the recipient feel bad, but just as likely makes the giver feel uptight as well. It's easier just to chill IMHO - it just feels better.
