President Trump

A truly trumpian level of debate gents. I feel you both make excellent points and the Donald would approve.
Admirably fair of you, but when it comes to the choice of candidates I'm 100% with the prick who wants Harris to win, not the wanker for Trump. Oh, and his posts on other topics had "wanker", and worse, all over them.

P.S. sorry for calling you a prick, UWOB.

The tariffs have and will continue to act to increase the costs of vehicles, both imported and domestically produced (as is the case with tariffs in general).

I have a degrees in economics and economic adjacent fields of study so I am happy to debate this until the end of time. There are very real economic issues with outcomes of globalisation but tariffs are not in any way, shape, or form a solution to them.

Trump policies had little to do with the initially improved ethnic minority employment rate—economic growth brought about during Obama’s administration is generally considered to be the driving force behind the lowering levels of unemployment for African-Americans. It is widely held that Trump’s shambles coronavirus response (and other policies) did have a negative impact on minority employment, however. Even so, average minority employment is actually higher under Biden than during Trump’s administration.

The First Step Act was bipartisan legislation that originated prior to Trump’s term and had little-to-nothing to do with Trump, he just took credit for it, as he does with many, many things he had nothing really to do with. And even then, Trump and the MAGA movement have begun to distance themselves from it, despite bragging about it when he is around minority voters.

Then you might wanna tell the Biden/Harris administration as they kept most of his tariffs and added some of theirs.

I guess we can add tariffs to one of the things you don't like about Blue Maga :)

What else?

He also had one of his lackeys alter an NOAA weather map with a Sharpie so he could claim he was right about the projected path of hurricane Dorrian.
This storm and trump's response to it has reminded everyone how awful he was with covid and every other genuine challenge he faced as potus.

Elections are held against the backdrop of the news cycle. The events, outside of anyone's control, that shift peoples views on various issues day to day.

This could of worked in his favour but he's blown it by his uncontrollable urge to spread BS instead of acting like a reasonable person.

Yep, you’d have to be a morally bankrupt **** to sit here and think he’d be the better choice, without exception.

He may well be as thick as pig shit, but he's still a step above those voting for him.

I've been following a bit more closely as the election approaches and what is particularly striking to me about some Trump supporters is less about intellect and more their lack of emotional maturity and ability to regulate and basically behave as adults. When challenged in even the most gentle and civilised of ways by reporters they respond wildly and some of the performative behaviour displayed you wouldn't tolerate from an emotionally healthy 9 year old. Clearly that's not all his supporters but given that cults feed off the vulnerabilities of their targets it's unsurprising that it seems to be a much higher proportion than would be 'normal'. There's the double whammy that in trump they have someone completely incapable of regulating himself, so a "role model" to tell them it's ok to be like this. What the underlying reasons are for this I don't know, is there more childhood trauma in the average US child's upbringing that would lead to a significant minority growing up in this fashion? I don't know if it's a peculiarly American thing but trump does seem to have unlocked/tapped into something weird in the psyche of a significant minority of some generations of Americans.
