I remember when he signed for City from West Brom in 1974 ( I think) and he was known as Asa Hole in the heart ford.
But he was a cracking player,gave his all in a City shirt and was a genuine crowd favourite.

In maybe 1977 I went along to the Junior Blues football team trials - I went in my Scottish kit which me mum had hand sewn a number 10 on the back - as Asa was my favourite (ever) player. I got the gig and for the next couple of years when I played for the team all the other kids called me Asa ! Happy days.
